Several months ago I decided to redecorate my sons room... afterall, he is now a toddler and needed to shed his little boy gear.

We decided on a dog theme in honor of our dog, Chewie, that recently passed away. I sought out several artists to do dog pictures for his room. We decided on 3 artists-- all of which I LOVE their work!

One of the artists was Carol Lynn Nesbitt. She did 6 dog pictures for his room all in primary colors. They take up one full wall in his room.

I found Carol on ebay. I liked her work, but wanted to control the pictures (wanted all dogs) as well as the color scheme. Carol was totally cool with that. We talked (emailed) about each dog. I sent her photos of dogs I liked, the general color scheme I wanted and presto! She was done in like 2 weeks. We went back and forth on a couple and I was so pleased that she was accomodating. :)

I should note: As part of the 6 pictures, Carol did two portraits of our dogs and did an amazing job! I was blown away how well she captured their spirit. She especially nailed my dog, Chewie that passed. (as an aside, it was a great way for my son to remember his first "dog" and deal with his passing)

Carol's pictures are fun, vibrant and great for kids (and adults too). I loved her work and my son loves it too. In fact, he has named the other 4 dogs in his room. Other kids come over and think he has the coolest room. I have to admit, I like hanging out in there. And, it has made my son appreciate art-- real art.

If you love your pet and want to have a portrait done, you wont be disappointed. Or, if you simply want to decorate a kids room, you will love the way it turns out.

p.s. I think I paid about $80 for each picture.

I'm sorry for the loss of your pet but what a wonderful way to decorate your child's room!

The pic of the dog at the top reminds me so much of my beloved dog Casey who passed away. He was my best friend for 16 years. I wonder if Carol could do a pic of him from photos. What a way to honor him. And, of course, my Mickie would have to be drawn or he would have a fit ;)

They really are beautiful pictures ... I had no idea there was anyone out there that did this type of thing. Great gift idea!

I guess we do have a great deal in common! I *love* decorating. I just finished my "Christopher Lowells Seven layers of Organization" and gutted everything for a re-design!
