In March 2009 I cruised the Carnival Victory to the Southern Caribbean.  For the most part the cruise was average.  I have been on two other Carnival cruises and in my opinion the food was not as good as previous cruises, plus our server was really bad.  It seemed like Carnival was skimping on the little things such as no longer serving fruit punch in the buffet area, charging for hand brewed cappacino, not from a machine, at breakfast, and charging more for both soft drinks and mixed drinks.  The entertainment was not as good as prior cruises.

I was told the Victory had recently been refurbished.  Our room was ok with the exception the mattress and pillows needed to be replaced, very lumpy.  The ships bathrooms also needed to be serviced little more.  The return portion of the cruise was very rocky, it appeared they were trying to make up time so they sped up the ship.

Most of the crew members were friendly expect upon departure. We had a problem with our bill upon checkout, and when we went to discuss it with staff we were told we had to take it up with Guest Relations when we returned home.  This infuriated me to no end.  It has been over two weeks now since the cruise, and I'm still getting the run-around from an uncooperative Guest Relations.  I am a repeat Carnival cruiser and do not feel they are living up to their guarantee of a great cruise experience.
