Most HelpfulI have been on 10 cruises and this was the most unmemorable..excpet that I spent $2700 (before the ship and sale card charges, excursions, tips etc. ))
for a week of mediocrity and bad service.....I have read so many good reviews that I wonder if I was even on the same ship...but, every fellow passenger...
In January, we cruised on the Carnival Triumph for a large family vacation. This was the second time that my husband and we on this ship, so it was nice to be famliar with where everything is and the great spots to hang out at.
Service, food and activites were a plenty and all good. Our ports of call were, Miami, Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Nassau. I do not reccommend Nassau as an exciting or even very clean port, although to each his own.
This is my first review of my first cruise, so bear with me! This review will best help first time cruisers.
First off, I had an excellent time! I went with a group of 30 or so friends/co-workers. Not exactly a romantic getaway, but guess what...I hardly ever saw my group except at dinner! Even on the days at sea, when all 2700 passengers are stuck on the boat, there is so many different things to do (or nothing at all!) that you can still manage to stay entertained (and avoid people you might not want to hang out with!)
Again, overall it was great...the cabin steward was extremely helpful, and seemed...
review »We have taken 8 cruises and they have always been on Carnival. We always take our adult children but, started cruising when our oldest daughter asked for the cruise as her senior gift. Our youngest daughter was in 10th grade. They both have become avid Carnival cruisers also. We enjoy the hospitality of the crew and the wonderful service in the diningroom. The ships are beautiful with the Triumph being one of our favorites. We plan on taking our 9th cruise in January of '09. We have always taken the Carribbean but will do the Mexican Rivera out of LAX this time. We are looking so...
review »Carnival basically allows you to have the type of cruise you want IF you make some decisions that will allow you to have the best possible time as opposed to simply going with the crowd. Yes, the average age is young, yes there is a lot of entertainment, and yes you could be busy 24/7.
But instead of trying to get the most value for your buck, try getting the best value for your buck. Don't do something simply because it's there, do it because you want to. A quiet area can always be found if that's what you want at the time. DECIDE what to do, don't ahve it served to you on a plastic plate.
