This was my third cruise I went with 3 others. One it was her first cruise ever. The other 2 were cruisers from another cruise line. We were ladies looking to have fun for a short time. WE DID! We chose this cruise for several reasons...one it was inexpensive, 4 days (that all the time we had) and...

This was our second cruise on the Sensation.  We greatly enjoyed this quick getaway.  The ship was clean and in good condition.  The staff is friendly and they work very hard to try to get what you need.  There are a lot of onboard options for thinsg to do.  The gym equipement was more than adequate... read full review »

My husband and I had never gone on a cruise before, so we didn't know what to expect.  I cannot say enough good about this ship and its staff!  Our formal dining room waiter was incredible and every staff member we encountered was friendly.  We took a 4-night trip from Port Canaveral, FL to the Bahamas on this ship.  If you take this cruise, I have only 2 suggestions: first, don't book 2 shore excursions in Nassau with less than 1 hour in between, and second, try not to book a room at the very back of the ship.  We went snorkeling in Freeport (it was FABULOUS!) and did a glass bottom boat...

Sensation was our first cruise (for our Anniversary).  It met out expectations for the most part.  We enjoyed our trip immensely.

The moment we got to the port we were treated with VIP service.  Our cabin was on the on Verandah Deck (V2).  This was a Suite with a private balcony and twins that convert to king size bed (11).  The views from the balcony were beautiful.  Our bathroom was larger than I had expected. It had a nice sized shower, sink and toilet. Overall I would rank this room at a "10".

The Staff on the boat was super - well beyond our expectations.  (Every time we messed up the...

Great price packages! I think this was one of Carnival's older ships but it was still in good shape...the interior was similar to other cruise lines I've been on e.g. Royal Caribbean. They have great activities for all ages and their live shows are wonderful. On another note, they are picture happy, so be prepared to take candid photos throughout the trip. You can also take professional pictures on board that can be purchased before leaving the ship, so if you can remember, be prepared for a nice family photo that you can purchase and take home...it's a great memento. The spa is great and they... read full review »

Carnival is a good cruise line to start out with--you can pick a shorter trip to a number of locations. If you're not sure you will like cruising you can get a three day 'taste' at less than $200 if you check for the deals.
Crew speaks excellent English, friendly and from all over the world!
Food portions are generous, nice variety of main meals. Dress code is pretty casual even on formal night--take work clothes in black if you're not into tuxedo and promwear!
Many types of entertainment available--from broadway type shows to bingo.
Don't be surprised to hear way more than you care about tanzanite...

The family enjoyed the Carnival Sensation cruise to the Bahamas. There were lots of things to do. The kids camp carnival for ages 9-11 could use a little revamping my child is 11 and was very bored with the childest things offered. They were able to hang out with the older group of kids and then it become more enjoyable for them.

The spa experience was awful I ordered several services and with each one I given a hard sales pitch to order the products and that is not why I ordered the service just wanted to relax and enjoy it. I will not use the spa again. I had always dreamed of getting a spa treatment,...

I cruised on the Sensation Aug. 2007 with my mom - her first and my second cruise. I knew what to expect and I was completely let down. The ship is old, worn-out, and dark inside. I didn't like not having my cabin available until just before take-off and the safety class. By that point, we had been on the ship for hours and after a morning of travel on a hot day, I really needed my cabin to change and rest. Also, being moved to a different dining room all-together in the middle of dinner so friends and family could sit together made me feel like a third class citizen. As a past-guest of Carnival,... read full review »

This was our family's second cruise.  We went to Calica and Cozumel.  Everything on the ship was great.  The staff was wonderful.  I forgot my hair conditioner, so the staff gave me extra samples that they leave in the rooms for you.  They asked us daily if there was anything they could get for us.  Also, the pools are closed alot due to kids getting sick in them, but the staff empty the pool, clean it and get it filled quickly.  My husband and daughter had a blast in the pool slide.

When we ported at Calica, we took a cab to Playa del Carmen and went to the public beach near McDonalds. ...

I recently got back from a Carnival cruise aboard the Carnival Sensation. I traveled with quite a few friends to Nassau, Bahamas last month for my 30th birthday. We arrived at Port Canaveral on Thursday at about lunchtime and enjoyed a great afternoon by the pool with a nice cool and festive beverage and great sunshine. The Miami vices are my favorite drink aboard Carnival cruises - its a mixture of Pina Colada and Strawberry Daquiri. That night we had a great dinner with wonderful food as usual - The Chocolate Melting Cake is to die for - I ordered it every night. The next day we arrived in the...

Having traveled on Princess and Royal carribean, this was just horrible.  There are just way too many little kids and not nearly enough programs for them.  If I was in college and on Spring break then maybe, but for a family there is no way I would ever go again.  The food and service is medicore at best.  I think the biggest disappointment were the elderly people on board, they we so rude.  We don't mind waiting in line, but some of us are retired veterans and we aren't in the best of shape either.  So don't assume that just because you are over 60 that you are entitled to push and shove... read full review »

We just went on our second cruise for the carnival sensation and it is well worth the money!  We didn't go to be treated like kings and queens and eat at 5 star dining, we went for the fun, and we had it!  We paid under $200 for four nights and three days, how can anyone eat for that much on vacation, not even including rooms, the shows, gym, pools, slide, and CHILD CARE!  The kids loved the camp!!  you couldn't even pay for that with what we paid.  This is a great cruise if you just want to get away for the weekend and relax and not worry about where to eat or what to do for fun, it comes... read full review »

Our family went on this ship to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. I knew this wasn't the most luxurious ship, but the boat was kinda like a sleazy, tacky Vegas on the water!

Staff was ok, not the nice, friendly ones everyone seems to rave about.

The shows were cheezy; the food was good, but not great. The ship is in major need of cleaning and redecorating. Embarking and disembarking were nightmares - hours wasted!

If we cruise again, I will try a different cruise line.

I went on the cruise Carnival Sensation and it was a great experience.  There was a lot of

activites and the scenery is great.  There was so much food and a 24 hour pizzeria and ice

cream, so imagine yourself eating a lot!  The restaurants to eat dinner was beautiful and

high maintenance I enjoyed it.  They also had captain night and that was the night where

you dress up and for an hour you enjoy free drinks.  It was worth every dollar.

I went on the Carnival Cruise Sensation in Feb 2007.  The ship was excellent, with great food and a lot of entertainment.  The one thing that I did not care for were the Bahamas.  I have not had any issues in Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, but in the Bahama's peopl,e were always hounding us to buy items on the street, it was not very clean either.  I did like going to the Atlantis, but that was the only aspect of the Bahama's I enjoyed.
