My husband and I had never gone on a cruise before, so we didn't know what to expect. I cannot say enough good about this ship and its staff! Our formal dining room waiter was incredible and every staff member we encountered was friendly. We took a 4-night trip from Port Canaveral, FL to the Bahamas on this ship. If you take this cruise, I have only 2 suggestions: first, don't book 2 shore excursions in Nassau with less than 1 hour in between, and second, try not to book a room at the very back of the ship. We went snorkeling in Freeport (it was FABULOUS!) and did a glass bottom boat tour and the city tour in Nassau, and NONE of the excursions returned when Carnival said they would. They all went 30-minutes to an hour over. As for the room, we were at the very back of the ship where it was nice and quiet, except when we were coming into port and leaving port, when we could feel the engines, etc. doing their thing.
In Nassau, if you decide to go to Atlantis, you can go for just a few dollars a person via water taxi, as opposed to the large price tag for the formal shore excursion. Water taxis are lined up at the dock near the ship. Next time we go, we'll do Atlantis.
The formal dining room food was the best, but the breakfast buffet was fine as well. Lots to do on the ship, and the ship is laid out great...easy to get to things. We were on the second to bottom floor, and we didn't mind being there.
This was an anniversary trip for us and we had such a good time. We're ready to do it again!
