Sensation was our first cruise (for our Anniversary).  It met out expectations for the most part.  We enjoyed our trip immensely.

The moment we got to the port we were treated with VIP service.  Our cabin was on the on Verandah Deck (V2).  This was a Suite with a private balcony and twins that convert to king size bed (11).  The views from the balcony were beautiful.  Our bathroom was larger than I had expected. It had a nice sized shower, sink and toilet. Overall I would rank this room at a "10".

The Staff on the boat was super - well beyond our expectations.  (Every time we messed up the bed - they made it! ) At night our bed would be turned down with a "towel animal" waiting for us to smile at.

I had ordered roses and chocolates for the room and surprise anniversary cake awaiting for us the second night.  There was a mix-up with the roses (which ended up being my error) that was handled swiftly and courteously.

I should note that the seas were extremely rough. A hurricane had passed thru the Bahamas the morning before we sailed.  Because of the rough seas, some of the entertainment was canceled.  Personally, I throughly enjoyed all this rocking - who doesn't like to be rocked to sleep? However, many many people aboard were wearing sea sick patches.

We watch an ice sculpture sculpt a center-piece for a wedding on the next cruise - Interesting & beautiful.

Nassau was beautiful.  I recommend a horse and carriage ride thru town - ask the driver to take you around town (even residential areas).  This was wonderful.  We had one couple jump on the bus (cost them a couple dollars) and traveled the entire island!

The ship was put in service in 1993 and is starting to show it's age.  There are some areas of the ship needing more attention than others.

There were some big cons.

  • I didn't appreciate being nickle and dimed with beverage charges.  If you drink soda you really need to purchase the beverage ticket which covers all you sodas while on board.
  • If you wake up late (10:00) and get dressed, good luck finding breakfast.
  • Looking for a late night snack?  Expect Fast-Food.

Overall, we really enjoyed this trip.  We didn't let the cons overshadow anything.
