Carnival Cruise Lines - Pride Mexican Riviera Review Summary

The Carnival Cruise Lines Pride of the Mexican Riviera was very well liked. Reviewers report that the activities were abundant. One reviewer said “I could spend my whole time on the ship without any land excursions.” Reviewers note that The Pride of the Mexican Riviera has nice little touches, “(I) even had towel animals and mints on my bed.” One downside was that the decks and pools can be very crowded.

When my husband and I were planning our honeymoon, we knew we wanted a go-big-or-go-home honeymoon because we were going to start a family shortly after and knew we wouldn't have the chance to travel like we'd want to once that happened.  We planned a 7 night, 8 day Carnival Cruise to the Mexican Riviera...

We recently sailed on the Carnival Pride for my 50th birthday. We loved tthe cruise experience as usual. This was our 4th cruise. Being at sea is so relaxing, and we even had dolphins swimming right beside our ship one morning. We were having coffee in our cabin and looking out the window and there they... read full review »

This was a great cruise. I've been told by several that Carnival is "the fun ship" and that it's mostly tailored to young adults and singles. This is a myth. Carnival has attractions for everyone. We didn't bring our kids with us on this trip, but my wife and I met several families during the course of the cruise whose kids were part of the kids camp -- it got rave reviews.

The ports of call are Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas -- great variety of different places along the Western Mexico coast. The cruise staff, especially the cruise director, was very good about supplying a very...

As a first time cruiser, I didn't know what to expect initially.  Here are a list of my pros and cons I experienced on this cruise:

Pros:

The all-inclusive aspect was great.  Don't have to worry about food, transportation, lodging, entertainment costs while on the ship.

Staff on the Pride were excellent.  Courteous room stewards and very attentive dining staff.

Good dining selections and overall food quality ranged from pretty good to excellent.

Port locations were all fun, my advice would be to save money by not booking excursions through Carnival.  Look into smaller businesses who advertise...

My husband and I traveled on the Carnival Pride in July 2007 to the mexican riviera. It was my second and his first. The total experiece was great, but lets start from the begining. Max, our phone/internet agent was very well educated, patient, friendly and provided wonderful service while booking our trip.

Apon arriving at the boarding station the car and security representatives were frustrating to deal with: a bit rude and impatient. To credit Carnival, I believe these people are third party vendors not representing Carnival. This was the only bad experience of the whole trip.

Once in the...

Carnival does not compete with Holland America and Cunard for their type of passenger, but having enjoyed numerous HAL cruises my wife and I dared each other to cruise on Carnival.

Having done that, we have continued to be pleased at the excellent experiences onboard Carnival ships - Liberty, Spirit, and Valor before Pride.

The Pride is a wonderful ship, with public areas that seem to facilitate traffic flow very well.  The decor is, well, Carnival - with all of the neon and glitz that this entails.  However, in our experience, no competitor in their price range [NCL/Royal Caribbean] provides...

I had a great time on this cruise!! There was a lot to do, even though some of the activities were kind of cheesy. I REALLY enjoyed the food options that were provided, and room service is FREE!! The ship is very clean and elegant. i wish there would have been more shops on the ship. Great ports of call, and a very timely schedule. There's always something to take part in!! I really like the Carnival daily schedule they gave us everyday. Had a lot of fun in the casino, but the table bets are kind of high, but I live in Las Vegas, so there's all sorts of gaming here to compare it to. Overall, I... read full review »

I went on my first cruise on the Carnival Pride.  It was like living on a my own fantasy island.  Everyone was very kind, helpful and very pleasant.  The service was excellent.  The choices of activities was....well let's just say I could of spent all my time on the ship without any land excursions.  Every bathroom was spotless, the cabin was spotless...even had little towel animals and mints on my bed.  I didn't want to leave.  I would recomment Carnival Cruises to everyone.

The cruise was an amazing experience! you have to do it at least once and make sure you travel with a group you actually like having around beacuse you will literally be around them for two weeks (depending on your plan).

The food is amazing, free, and always avalible! which can be a bad thing if your on a diet!

the stops to some of the most preseigous locations in Mexico was also a great way to escape the confines of the ship! Shopping is plenty and relatively cheap!

On our honeymoon, my wife and I enjoyed almost every ammenity on this ship. I loved every minute of it. the ports were awesome as well. Mazatlan being my favorite, only due to the history there. Other ports were equally great and the shore excursions we a blast. the staff on the ship itself was great, the shows spectacular, and the constant level of customer service made this a true pleasure cruise. Carnival is truely "The Fun Ship"

We went on this cruise for our honeymoon. It was the best choice that we could have made.  Carnival Pride offered endless entertainment, from shows to casino to shopping to our waiters at dinner.  This was an amazing experience that I would love to repeat.  The stops were great, just enough time without being too long.  This was also one of the cheaper options for a honeymoon that we could have chosen.

We took the Carnival Pride 7 day Mexico Cruise this summer.  Our nine year old enjoyed the cruise alot, as did the adults.  The teenagers were not as happy with the acitivities - though they did a LOT of socializing.  Excursions were good, we especially liked the zip line.  This was not the newest ship, and the pool was really small, but overall it was a relaxing time for all 5 of us.

The chef of the Pride had fabulous meals of all different kinds.  The dining room was by far the best place to eat your meals.  Excellent service and great waiters.  Lots of activities to do on the boat and shore trips of all kinds.  The snorkeling was the best in Puerto Vallarta.  Would go on this cruise again.

Carnival Pride is a beautiful ship. The ports of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas were all nice. Plenty to do in all three. The staff on this ship was extremely helpful and friendly. there were plenty of shore tours to choose from and plenty of activities on the sea days.
