My daughter and I went on the July 12 cruise offered by Carnival on their ship"Freedom". We were upgraded to a balcony room, lovely addition to the already large, well thought out room we had. Plenty of closet space and drawers. Bathroom was larger than I expected. Room steward was superb, never interfering in our time, almost knowing our schedules. The cruise director, John H. was a wealth of information on what shore excursions to take and which not to take. The excursions in Florence and Rome were pricier and rest of the ones offered in different cities, but worth the money. Food in the informal...
review »My husband, myself and 3 other couples went on a cruise on the Carnival Freedom from Oct 10 -18, 2009. We had a fantastic time! The ship is beautiful, our room steward, Skinner, was the best! We ate in the Lido Restaurant and had fantastic waiters, head waiter, Jonathan, was the also the best! If you wanted seconds on anything, just ask and they will deliver, even the lobster! We enjoyed the shows that were offered, but did notice they weren't as good or as many as shows we have seen on previous cruises, maybe the cruiselines have had to cut back like the rest of us. We also ran into...
review »My husband & I sailed on the Carnival Freedom to the Western Caribbean in Sept 09. We booked an "early bird" fare 5 months prior to the trip. I couldn't believe how little it cost compared to my last trip on the Carnival Conquest in 06. It was almost half the price but I enjoyed myself just as much!
The only thing that bothered me on this cruise was that there were very little activities planned, even on "Fun Days at Sea" and the activities they did have conflicted with our set dinner time.
The food is hit or miss. Best hot dogs I've ever had in my life! Great nachos. The sandwiches...
review »I have been on many cruises and many cruise lines, and my favorite every time is Carnival Cruise Line. This cruise line is kid friendly (in fact, caters to the children) and keeps them busy so adults can enjoy time alone.
We sailed out of Civitevecchia, Italy and visited Rhodes and Athens, Greece; Istanbul and Ephasus, Turkey; Rome, Florence and Pisa, Italy. An unbelievable 2-week trip.
On the other hand, if you do not have children and do not love kids, you should choose another cruise line. Children are everywhere.
