Carnival Cruise Lines - Fascination —

This was my first cruise, although my husband and I lived on a tropical island for a number of years.  My husband is a pastor, and it is very difficult to get him away from all the demands on his time so we can have quality time together.  The cruise was perfect!  I love the ocean, the ship is a self-contained community with every amenity I could possibly want, the service was absolutely first-rate, our privacy was respected, and we had a wonderful time!  There was some kind of restaurant (or room service) available 24 hours/day, everything from a hot dog and pizza stand to a very formal 5-course meal that was incredible.  There were many activities available, such as shoppping, comedy shows, a casino, swimming, miniature golf, a gym complete with trainers and massage therapists, and even a running track!  Some of these cost extra, but many did not.  We especially enjoyed the opportunity to just relax and enjoy wandering around the cruise ship.

We stopped in Cozumel and went to see the Mayan ruins in Tulum.  The bus ride was comfortable, and there was no way you could get lost or left behind!  Everything was wonderfully organized.  The bus driver was great, and the tour guide, Alvaro, was extremely knowledgable about the area and its history.  I'm an archaeology buff, so this part of the trip was especially fascinating for me.  I learned a great deal about the Mayan civilization and took a ton of pictures.  There were even archaeologists working on the site at the time!

Every part of the trip was terrifically organized.  There were many things available that cost extra, but we did very little of it and had a great time.  They don't pressure you into doing things, they just make them available.  The entire trip was worth every penny.  We were both truly rested and happy when we debarked in Miami!
