I was very impressed with the Booking agent for Carnival who worked with me to schedule our cruise. Peter, gave me information that I would have never known, including the information that my husband was eligible for a discount because he is a veteran. That information is not even present on the Carnival website. We book a 4 day Carnival Fantasy Cruise out of New Orleans, La. to Coszumel, Mexico.
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the entire ship and especially with the cleanliness of our stateroom. The cabin steward was immpecable. He kept our room neat and clean at all times. Every time we left the room and came back things were straightened, fresh and clean.
The "Vegas" style entertainment was high quality. We enjoyed the variety of the "shows" offered. There was live music practacly everywhere on the ship which kept the fun and enthusiam rolling along day and night.
The ONLY element of the Cruise that was not up to our expectation was the food. We found the food in the buffet area not at all as good as we had been told it would be. The main dining room dining was better, but still not comparable to the hype it had been given.
Now, the poolside grill did offer some delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. The aroma of the food poolside would call us everytime we were near it.
As an overall fair assessment of this Cruise I rated it with 3 stars mainly because of the food because while on a cruise ship you are at the mercy of the food service staff to prepare your food. You can't skip out and grab a meal elsewhere.
