Most HelpfulThe Elation is part of the Carnival cruise line. Carnival links the words "The Fun Ships" to it name, trying to connect that concept in our minds. While this may have appealed to me at one time, it really isn't what I look for in a cruise these days. I was a bit worried the cruise wasn't for my family...
review »After cruising on the "Elation" from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, 7/3/08 - 7/7/08, I would not recommend the Carnival Cruiseship "Elation" for the following reasons.
(1) Dining Room Experience - Not only were we packed in like sardines, the staff was mostly rude and/or incompetent. For example, when we asked one of our waiters why some tables were finished with dessert when we hadn't even been served dinner yet, we were told that they were busy. In one instance, some people at my table had eaten and finished their appetizers before I had received my appetizer (even after asking three times). When...
review »I would highly recommend a Carnival Cruise. Personally, I love to travel - but I went on this cruise with some family members who are nervous travelers, and even they had a blast! Carnival is great because they appeal to every demographic. No matter where you are in life, there is something for you to do on a Carnival Cruise! You could be a 5-year-old or 85 years old and still have a great experience.
Some people view assigned dining as a negative - but for me, it was a positive. We had two excellent waitors who learned our every preference. By the third day, they were bringing me decaf cappucino...
review »We went on a Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas through a promotional program, and at first we were apprehensive, because the reservations were done over the phone. We thought we would have to pay for food, even though we knew it was all-inclusive--we didn't trust it. So we budgeted $70 a day. Guess what? We brought all that money BACK home with us, even after buying souveniers!
The Cruise Ship was massive, like a floating town. I have dizzy spells-without cruising, so I was worried about being sea sick. WRONG! You don't feel anything because the boat is so huge--and beautiful. ...

Carnival Cruise Line
We started out in Miami, We got on our ship after about an hour, Long lines checking in, and Lots of travelers. We were very early, It was to our advantage, I would not have waited for those long lines. After our ship left Miami, we toured our ship, found all the hot spots, and then found out our luggage was a little lost, Luckily I was prepared with a Carry on bag. I had it for all my medication, and Bathing suit, and many accessories. I ahd the time of my life, I had been celebrating finishing Chemo and radiation after a long battle with Breast Cancer, I needed...
review »I took my Sister, 16 year old son and my sons friend on the Carnival Elation in October. Our trip took us to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada. First of all, the ship was beautiful and the staff could not have been more friendly. They had tons of stuff to do while we were at sea and I hardly saw my son and his friend. The activities for all age groups was well versed and so much fun. Cabo San Lucas was clean and pretty. I have been here before and the snorkeling was great, the restaurants were great, and the people were very friendly. I have taken many cruises before but I have to say,...
review »As a first time cruise goes I was a little unsure of what to expect. Wow what an experience. Carnival elation was an incredible experience. From the moment i entered the docking area to board the ship. Everyone was extremely friend and happy. This took so much stress out of my traveling i had just driven 4 hours to get to the dock. When we first entered the ship I was amazed at the beauty. All throughout the cruise day and night people were cleaning and maintaining the ship. It was spectacular. The dining experience was a story in itself. One evening at dinner my daughter...
review »I find cruises primarily are what you make them--there is plenty to do for every age. For those of us who are looking for some rest and relaxation the best plan is a balance of the two.Having plenty of fun is refreshing and the fact that meals and snacks are done for you ,as well as room service if desired is important.
At the different ports--one can go off board and explore shopping or try new cuisine or just enjoy experiencing a new culture. It's up to you or you can stay on board and go swimming and get a facial for refreshment. Overall from on board Casino and huge buffets with tasty foods...
review »The carnival cruise is so beautiful, and exciting. The cruise was really exciting because I was a first time cruiser. The things that was so amazing to me on the cruise was how beautiful the scenery is. It is outstanding being able to see the ship sail away and even if you just want to watch the ocean. The cruise had many activities for the kids such as arcade rooms, jungle room and alot of activities to keep the little ones occupied. The crew ship also consisted of a sauna room. fitness center. jaquizzis, swimmig pools, anything you ever dreamed is on the crew ship. The food was amazing they served anything...
