Carnival Cruise Lines - Elation Review Summary
The Carnival Cruise Line’s Elation is, for the most part, very well liked by our reviewers, but with a few exceptions. Budget conscious travelers loved the low cost, “accommodating” staff and having plenty of fun things to do. The exceptions included assigned seating –you might end up with weirdos-, and some thought the food “could be better”. Overall, Viewpoints members think that the Carnival Elation is worth looking into.

After cruising on the "Elation" from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, 7/3/08 - 7/7/08, I would not recommend the Carnival Cruiseship "Elation" for the following reasons. — (1) Dining Room Experience - Not only were we packed in like sardines, the staff was mostly rude and/or incompetent. For example, when we asked one of our waiters why some tables were finished with dessert when we hadn't even been served dinner yet, we were told that they were busy. In one instance, some people at my table had eaten and finished their appetizers before I had received my appetizer (even after asking three…

I went on a Carnival Cruise Line cruise when I turned 30. I traveled with my sister, best friend and mom. We had a guaranteed upgrade cabin and since there were 4 of us to one room we got upgraded to a Suite!!! It was awesome and did not cost us any extra. If you go on a cruise make sure you get the guaranteed upgrade option. Some people say the food isn't very good on Carnival. I believe the food was very very good. It was the first time I had lobster bisque, caviar and escargot just to name a few - Awesome. The only bummer was that I went in…

I would highly recommend a Carnival Cruise. Personally, I love to travel - but I went on this cruise with some family members who are nervous travelers, and even they had a blast! Carnival is great because they appeal to every demographic. No matter where you are in life, there is something for you to do on a Carnival Cruise! You could be a 5-year-old or 85 years old and still have a great experience. — Some people view assigned dining as a negative - but for me, it was a positive. We had two excellent waitors who learned our every preference. By the third day, they were bringing…

We went on a Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas through a promotional program, and at first we were apprehensive, because the reservations were done over the phone. We thought we would have to pay for food, even though we knew it was all-inclusive--we didn't trust it. So we budgeted $70 a day. Guess what? We brought all that money BACK home with us, even after buying souveniers! — The Cruise Ship was massive, like a floating town. I have dizzy spells-without cruising, so I was worried about being sea sick. WRONG! You don't feel…

Carnival Cruise Line — We started out in Miami, We got on our ship after about an hour, Long lines checking in, and Lots of travelers. We were very early, It was to our advantage, I would not have waited for those long lines. After our ship left Miami, we toured our ship, found all the hot spots, and then found out our luggage was a little lost, Luckily I was prepared with a Carry on bag. I had it for all my medication, and Bathing suit, and many accessories. I ahd the time of my life, I had been celebrating finishing Chemo and…

BEST CRUISE I EVER TOOK — THE SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING — THE ROOMS VERY SPACIOUS COMPARED TO OTHER SHIPS I HAVE BEEN ON — EVEN THOUGH WE MISSED A PORT, THE CREW AND CAPTAIN DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO MAKE OUR EXTRA TIME AT SEA ENJOYABLE. — THE CREW ON THIS SHIP IS VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY PERSONABLE. — THE SHOWS WERE MAGNIFICENT, THE FOOD FANTASTIC, THE CASINO WAS FABULOUS AS WELL. THE DINING STAFF MADE YOUR DINING EXPERIENCE VERY ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING....THE SHOWS THAT THE STAFF PUT ON IN THE DINING ROOM WAS SO MUCH FUN, ALL THE SINGING AND DANCING MADE…

I had the exact same reports from three different families who went on this cruise. They said it was outstanding service and the most fun they've had in their lives. It was extremely kid-friendly. My friend said that she felt like her kids were their guests, instead of her children. Great concern and care was shown by every crew member. The food was excellent and plentiful. The entertainment was relaxing and engaging. No one who returned from this cruise could be kept from talking about if for days and days. The only complaint that I heard was…

When we tried to get into our room upon first boarding the ship, our key would not open the room. After a few minutes contemplating the situation and trying to figure out why we couldn't open the door, a young couple opened the door. They were in our room. We asked how they got in there and they stated that one of the cruise ship staff let them in. We were furious! They had been rolling around in our bed, used our bathroom, and sampled the snacks in our room. We went to the help desk and let them know what had happened. They said they would send in housekeeping to clean the room…

I find cruises primarily are what you make them--there is plenty to do for every age. For those of us who are looking for some rest and relaxation the best plan is a balance of the two.Having plenty of fun is refreshing and the fact that meals and snacks are done for you ,as well as room service if desired is important. — At the different ports--one can go off board and explore shopping or try new cuisine or just enjoy experiencing a new culture. It's up to you or you can stay on board and go swimming and get a facial for refreshment. Overall from on board Casino and huge buffets…

The carnival cruise is so beautiful, and exciting. The cruise was really exciting because I was a first time cruiser. The things that was so amazing to me on the cruise was how beautiful the scenery is. It is outstanding being able to see the ship sail away and even if you just want to watch the ocean. The cruise had many activities for the kids such as arcade rooms, jungle room and alot of activities to keep the little ones occupied. The crew ship also consisted of a sauna room. fitness center. jaquizzis, swimmig pools, anything you ever dreamed is on the crew ship. The food was amazing they…

WOW!!! this was so much fun. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the cruise and are planning the next one. This is the best way to travel if you want to do a lot and not worry about driving/flying/hotels/food. We got to snorkel, go to parties, there were auctions, shows, swimming, beaches, beauty shop/spa ect. — The only down side is your drinks can add up,but we found the best way around that is to look at the ship schedule and go where the free drinks are. We went to art auctions, capitans partys, heck we even went to a singles parts. — In…

We went on a family cruise on Carnival Cruises. It was fun just experiencing what a cruise is all about, and all the amenities there are. However, it seemed like everywhere you went, alcoholic drinks were offered (for a price, of course), which made for some noisy neighbors at night. — I was looking forward to the "Chocolate Buffet". It looked marvelous! But, hardly anything tasted good. They had used bitter European chocolate for EVERYTHING! — The particular time we went, there was fog in the bay when we were returning from our trip, so…
