Our flight on Continental 795 was on time, the gal with the Carnival
sign told us where to obtain our luggage in Miami. Then we went to the
bus to be taken to the dock. At the dock we had to climb thru piles
of luggage & dig thru to find ours, then drag...
This was my first cruise. I am 36 and went with my husband and 15 and 17 year old sons. I was worried that the boys would get bored,,,,, but we never saw them on the ship. The teen club was wonderful and had a lot of activities for them to do. They met kids from all over the world and had so much fun.
The cabin was small, but the closets and drawers were very well set up and allowed us to empty our suite cases and hide them. The bed was comfy and the shower was great.
The food was out of this world! Every meal was great.
I did not like haveing to buy a soda card, that should be included in the price....

I thought that it would be a much needed get away for me and my son under the circumstances. In order to take my son's mind off of the death of his grandmother.
And i was right it taught him that no matter what that life goes on and it still has to be lived and enjoyed. That death was a part of life.
We had a great time it was my sons first cruise and for sure i believe that we will go on another one without the tears.
The cruise gave him a mental rest. It was great for me as a mom to see him experience something...

However, I think that partially, because we have cruised in the past on a much larger, competitor cruise line, the Ectasy left much to be desired.
While the service was great, the on board activities were extremely limited and we found ourselves quite bored on the days we were out to sea. There was only one gift ship and 1 jewelry shop, no on board restaurants and a very limited selection of food. Plus, we found the dinning...
read full review »Had a fun relaxing time. The outside stateroom was comfortable enough- didn't spend too much time there. Bathrooms throughout the ship were not always as clean and stocked as they could have been. The evening entertainment was okay. Didn't find anything other than the casino too exciting. The comedian was lame. However the full feature movies and art auction were fun and enjoyable. The food was good- mainly dined in the restaurant. The midnight buffet and the room service were wonderful and very convenient. The day at sea was fun- had a lot of activities. Thought it might be...

I would suggest that if you are young and single cruising or at least this cruise line is not for you. I felt like I was on a field trip the entire time. I also did not like the fact that our room steward kept hitting on my friend whom I was travelling with. It made it very uncomfortable for us as we tried to quickly dogde him throughout the entire trip. I also did not enjoy having to eat dinner with people as old as my parents, especially when we had requested to sit with a younger crowd. This cruise...
read full review »My family and I stayed busy the whole time, there is a lot to do, good food and entertainment. I would highly suggest this cruise line. We were never concerned about our safety. The staff was friendly and helpful. The people we meet were all in good spirits and had nothing bad to say. We plan to take a cruise at least every 2 years if possible. However, the room was a little small, we usualy stay in a large suite when we stay in hotels, so it was a little tight for us. But we didn't spend alot of time in the room other than to sleep, and dress anyway. If you are money cautions however, beware...
