Most HelpfulI am mother to a six year old boy, and three year old girl.
With Ben, I used Good Start in the purple canister. It was the only one at the time. Ben is strong, healthy, and has an excellent immune system.
When Kate was born, they came out with the orange canister, and for a long time I spent the extra money because it was THE BEST. But I realized, Ben did just fine with the purple, and Kate will too. And she did!
If you genuinely can't afford the extra expense, don't guilt yourself into buying the most expensive. Purple was great.
I love Good Start, because it looks most like milk and has relatively no offensive...
review »Carnation good start was the only formula my daughter would keep down. i was on WIC at the time and they provide Simalac... she puked and didn't poop for a week... got the Good Start and no more puking and started pooping 3 times a day.
My children used Nestle Good Start Supreme with DHA and ARA, now known as Nestle Good Start Gentle Plus.
Nestle uses gentle 100% whey protein, the highest quality protein used in infant formula, and they break down this gentle whey protein ingredient into smaller pieces to be easy to digest. These are called Comfort Proteins and only GOOD START milk-based formulas have them. Because of these comfort proteins my children had regular urinary and bowel movements with no constipation or diarrhea, less gas and they did not spit up more than a normal amount.
Nestle Good Start offers a...
review »My son had colic as a baby. As any parent who has had a baby with colic knows, colic is pure torture for both the baby and the parents. My son cried constantly. We were giving him Mylicon drops for his colic and tried several different formulas. Nothing seemed to ease his suffering. He would not sleep for more than an hour at a time before he would wake up crying again.
I saw a comercial on tv about Carnation Good Start. It said that Carnation Good Start has "comfort proteins" that are easy for babies to digest. This formula was supposed to be good for babies that have a hard time with other formulas....
review »I switched to this formula at the end of my son's "formula career." I wish I had switched much, much earlier. My son was born 3 weeks early and was small, 5 lbs. 14 ozs. He had reflux due to his size and being slightly underdeveloped. We started on Enfamil Lipid with Iron at the hospital. He was so cranky and gassy. He would cry and scream and pull his legs up. It was horrible. So we switched to Enfamil Gentlease. He did a little better but still seemed to be quite gassy. My husband and I did not want to mess around with this and keep switching formulas so we decided at that...
review »Although I no longer have infant children of my own, I continue to by Carnation formula for my many nieces, nephews, and little cousions that stop by. I buy Carnation's formulas because it is a brand that I truly believe in and it is cost efficient as well. Unlike most baby formulas, it doesn't have that bitter like smell too it. It almost smell sweet compared to other formulas. Most of the infants I have fed Carnation's to have a easier time digesting this formula. It helped a great deal when it came to the niece and nephew that were experience acid reflux using the other formulas prescribed...
review »I loved the resuls of Carnation Good Start. My child never got sick as a result of this product and always loved drinking it. It was easy to prepare and transport. Never was their spills in my diaper bag. It was also a product that showed the results it advertised. The Iron made my child healthy and never ill. I used tis product for several years and my child grew stronger and healthier eachyear. I would recommend Carnation Good Start with Iron to all mothers with newborns and toddlers. This product was not a bunch of hype or technical names o a label. It almost reminded me of breast...
review »I had to use Nestle Carnation Good Start Soy Formula for my son who had a milk allergy. It was easily digestible for him and it also eliminated spit up. Before we tried this product he cried a lot and didn't keep much of his formula down. I thought my son was colic, but this formula took care of that for me. It is easy to travel with too. The powder is quick and easy, and comes with it's own measuring scoop so it is easily measured, wether at home or on the road. I have made a bottle or two driving down the road (although DEFINATELY NOT recommended) but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do....
review »My children are older now but all three were on Carnation Good start when they were babies. Out of three children not one fo them had a problem digested this formula and it was easy to use this fomula along with breastfeeding so when they did bottle feed completely they had no problem with this formula at all. I definitely wouldn't say this is th cheapest formula on the market because I have seen a cheaper brand but this is reasonably priced as far as formulas go and it is certainly not to most expensive . When you have babies you need to find good products and a good price that will work well...
review »I have used Carnation Good Start with four of my five children. I also use Carnation Good Start in my home based daycare facility. I find it very easily mixed and dissolveable, without lumps of powder sticking to the inside of the bottles. It has a pleasant smell, compared to other formulas. My children have all consumed this formula without any problems. This formula seems to propose less gas and easy digestion, in most infants. The packaging is bright, cheery, and distinctive. The price is less than most other formulas. I have also received some coupons worth a great deal towards my...
review »I have 5 children - 10 and under. I have used various soy formulas for 4 of them after I was done nursing, but I hated the smelly diapers. After I had my fifth baby, I ended up nursing him longer than all the others. By the end of nursing him I had read in a couple of places that I trusted that Carnation Good Start was the best formula to replace breastmilk. I must admit I was a little skeptical but there was a selling point for me. My son's dirty diapers smelled almost exactly like breastmilk dirty diapers! I couldn't believe it - I was definitely sold! I will always recommend Carnation Good...
review »My kids looved this when they were little couldnt get enough of it and I signed up for the carnation mail and got lots of free coupons and products ladies this is the way to go sign up for every baby club known to man and you will be ok. even now i still get stuff from them and its been years! at first we tried a differant formula but my son could not keep it down so we switched to the good start and he did really well..thank goodness i was startin to run out of clothes.. that projectile stuff wasnt happeneing but they are now grown up so i no longer am in need for formula. also make sure to sign...
review »Carnation Good Start Formula was wonderful for my son. My son was having a hard time with digesting formulas. I had gotten to the point that I practically tried everything! My son was having alot of gas and was having a hard time digesting any kind of baby formula. Then I tried Good Start. It was the only formula that my son could actually tolerate. My doctor was pretty impressed also. Just when I was giving up, Carnation Good Start gave me hope again!. If your newborn or baby is having a hard time with formula, I do suggest trying Good Start. It really is a good start to your...
