CareFresh can make life as a pet owner so much easier. It is paper-based and biodegradable. Many small animals cannot live on wood shavings because the oils can cause health problems or death, but CareFresh is free of those oils and therefore safe to use. It's suitable for small mammals such as ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits as well as birds, and some reptiles.
CareFresh comes in a variety of colors including natural, white, pink, purple and multicolored. The coloring is completely safe for your pet and kids love to pick out a color that matches the cage and accessories.

review »Now that brand makes colors but we dont use the colored ones. they have pink and blue and now purple colored.... it helps in so many ways. its a lot cleaner and no dust in the house. It helps with the allergies I have. it helps with smell. We use that bedding for both the rabbit and the two ferrets.
Carefresh Pet Bedding is one of the best products I've found for my small pets.
Being the care giver for three guinea pigs and three rabbits, I need a product that is widely available, reasonably priced and does a good job, but is also good for the care and comfort of my pets.
Carefresh is available in most pet stores, catalogs, and online. The product is very good for the animals being made of paper, not wood shaving, it is very safe for their sensitive feet, and has nothing in it to harm my pets if they should happen to chew on it, which is common for these types of pets. It seems to control...
review »It's true that Carefresh gets expensive compared to other types of litter. However, I've found that, aside from fleece (which is very cheap in the long run but not always pleasant to clean and impractical if you use laundromats), Carefresh is the most comfortable (and the most fun) comercial litter for pet rats. It is also a safe alternative to cheap litters like pine and cedar, which contain oils unsafe for rats, who have very sensitive respiratory systems.
i have used carefresh pet bedding and liner with my pet rabbits (I have 4). i found it to work well on the odor but the rabbits loved digging it, especially when it was first put in the cage, and throwing it out of the cage onto the floor making a mess for me to clean up. it is fairly economical to use and is a safe alternative to using pine or cedar chips which can cause health problems for your rabbits.
I have tried different types of pet bedding. Cedar is bad because it causes respitory problems. Pine is what I usually get. I do get this one when their is a sale and a coupon because it is way more expensive and when you have more than one of them you use alot . It cuts down on the odor and is more appealing to look at.
Carefresh is the best litter and controls odor the best. Unfortunately it's more expensive so I've had to go to Aspen shavings.
