I didn't know what Medical Transcription Training was til last year when I was researching on the web. In this economy, you're bound to lose your job or even be on the chopping block; like me. I lost my second job and it was stressful and depressing. Being in your early 20s with no set goals or over-achieving grades leaves limited options, but career step has provided me with an amazing career; something many take for granted each and everyday. I love the opportunity that career step has given me and left many open doors for me. They even help you look for jobs after you're done with the course (relieves some stress off of that area). Overall, career step has been a big life changer towards smaller, but yet bigger dreams. In career step, you're not in it alone because you have support of their whole entire team backing up helping you in achieving your own success. Career step is an eye opener to me because thanks to them my career is advancing rapidly.

I took the Medical Transcription course with Career Step this past year. It was very easy to enroll and they were able to answer all my questions before starting. They quickly mailed me all my textbooks and a couple bonus items for enrolling in this course. They allow to to complete the course at your own pace within a twelve month time frame. It can easily be completed in four months if you take it seriously and give it ample time. They cover everything that you need to know to get started in this field, including medical terminology, anatomy, procedures, types of transcription offices, among other topics. You may only advance to the next section once you score high enough on the section tests. There are various activities throughout each lesson to keep you engaged and to help you retain the information. I found the overall course pretty easy to complete until they got the actual transcribing portion with doctors who had accents or had lots of background noise making it difficult to understand what they were saying. The final was much harder than expected and were real world recordings of actual doctors in environments to be expected.You are given three chance to pass the final. There is a practical and objective part to the final. If you passed one part and not the other you could just retest the part you failed. If you did not pass the third try you still got completion credit but not graduation credit. They did send me a completion certificate but they do not do that anymore.

Career Step is one of the best medical transcription training programs out there. Very comprehensive and thorough. You study at your own pace from the comfort of your home & everything can be done over the internet! It took me just over a year to finish their course & I had a job as a medical transcriptionist within 3 weeks of graduating! I could not have invested my money for this education any better. I work from home now without having to send my children to daycare! Truly a blessing to have found Career Step!

I began the Career Step medical transcription program after I lost my job and was looking for a new employment opportunity. I did extensive research on the many programs offered out there and I easily concluded that Career Step was the best, most recognized program there is. They work directly with real employers to assist students in obtaining legitimate work at home employment. Before beginning the program, I had no background in medical subjects and did not consider myself a good typist. These were concerns for me which the program addresses. A typing unit is included in the program with exercises to train you for good typing techniques, accuracy and speed. The medical material is presented in an easy to understand format. Online lessons are presented clearly with many quizzes along the way to reinforce the material. Take the quizzes as many times as you need to learn the material and achieve a satisfactory score. I began the Career Step program over a year ago. Due to personal circumstances there have been periods of time in which I have been unable to continue the online lessons. This is no problem. It is easy to purchase time extensions and you can take as long as you need to complete the lessons.

Career steps medical transcription course is a comprehensive, easy to navigate on-line education experience.  As a stay at home mom with no local colleges I have found this course as an excellent opportunity to continue my education without the need to travel or even leave the comfort of my own home.   The medical transcription course is extensive.  When I compared it with other on-line courses available I found it to be loaded with more curriculum and benefits than other programs.  The added bonus of having an excellent rating/standing with the better business bureau helped me decide to go with their program. The learning modules are easy to use, and provide a good selection of learning tools, and easy learning techniques.  You are taken step by step through whatever unit you are working through, and with a variety of games and well as flash-cards it is easy to learn. While I haven't finished the course yet, I am finding it to be an excellent choice for my continuing education and highly recommend it to others.
