Capital One - VISA Review Summary

An easy credit card to obtain, Captial One Visa is a credit card familiar to most due to Capital One’s advertising and direct mail solicitations. Reviewers acknowledge the ease of obtaining a Captial One Visa and they like the ability to use their Captial One Visa most anywhere. But the positive words are few, and comments include: “Like All the Benefits of the Card”, “Not Impressed with Capital One”, and “Only Get One if No One Else Will Give You Credit”. Among the qualities of the Captial One Visa not appreciated by reviewers are its poor customer service, pushy sales department, and tendency to increase interest rates on customer accounts at any time for any reason. So, in summary, Captial One Visa is a Credit Card that most reviewers agree should be avoided unless nothing else is available.

I have a bad debt to pay because of the misleading way I was led to have credit cards. The way things are sown upon the soul is a sin. I have the debts to pay of the credit cards and I am doing my seven year payment plan with God of the bible. I do not thing we should have credit cards with the interest...

I am reviewing the Capitol One VISA card.  I was approved for this card when I was 23 years old.  The first time I payed the card completly off I used a checking account.  They had two different checking account numbers that I had used.  When I told the company to use one and not the other they decided they would charge both.  So the end result was my boyfriends checking account being overdrafted so much that I could not pay it off and it was closed due to it.  The next problem that I had with them was when I became unemployed, due to unforseen circumstances.  I had paid a monthly...

I have owned the Capitol One no hassles rewards credit card for a long time now and to tell you the truth, I very rarely use the credit card because I'm very into paying cash for everything.  I have a debit card for large in store purchases, but basically pay cash for everything because credit card debit can get anyone into big trouble fast that is hard to fix.

On the occasions that I have had to use the credit card (car rental), I always write a check to pay the card off as soon as I get the statement in the mail.  But what bothers me is this, every single time I have used the card, and paid...

At the age of 18, I decided to get my first credit card. Some people might say that was a bad idea, and I agree to an extent. However, I had a job and was somewhat responsible for my age, so I applied and was approved for a Capital One credit card. Of course, I only had a few hundred dollar limit, but it was my first credit card, and I was happy. I paid my bills on time, stayed within my balance, and was overall a good consumer. That all stopped when I lost my job a few months later. I started to depend on my card more than usual, and maxed out my card. I was having difficulty paying off my bill,...

Capital One commercials flood the television networks, so most everyone has heard of them.  Thanks to his ex-wife, my husband's credit is in shambles, so after carefully paying down all of HER debt, I encouraged him to start building up a credit history again.  He applied for a couple of different cards, but with the recent credit crunch, no one would give him a card.  He finally applied for a Capital One Visa and they did approve him, with a very small line of credit, which was fine as he is only going to use it for small purchases and pay it off each month.  What I was disappointed in was...

HI, I have a Captial One Visa Card and I thought it was the one of the best creidt card services offered, but after about the months I found out differently.  For the 1st the months everything started of wonderful.  I got a credit increase because I paid on time for the months straight, but the fourth month is when the problem began.  When I called to recieve my balance they told me that all the purchases had been processed but they weren't which caused me to go over the limit..  I didn't know at the time that I was over my limitm, which I got charged a $39 over-the-limit- fee., which caused...

In the year 2000, I was forced to retire due to increasing vision loss. Then my husband suddenly passed away. I was in debt up to my eyeballs living on a fixed income from Social Security. Eventually, I was limited to filing bankruptcy.

Capital One agreed to discharge my debt, as well as offered me a free start , with a new $200 credit card.

I was hesitant at first,..but eventually accepted the offer.

Needless to say within a few years, my credit line increased to $2000.00, ( after I had paid the balance of $200 2 or 3 times). Then when the Economy became unstable and many credit card companies...

November. I called my 3 credit card companys to see if I could get my payment or intrest lowered, Capital one said that they coulden't lower my payment or intrest but! they could put me on a type of hardship thing for awhile maybe that would help.. fine I thought that it would so they did just that diden't charge me for a couple of months. Then I received a notice my intrest was going to go up to 29.5% I could opt out but I would have to close the account to do so. So I closed my account and with that my other two cards changed also, so I closed them too.

I got my Capital One credit card roughly in July of 2005. I needed to rebuild my credit after a divorce and unfortunately this offer came to me in the mail around that time. I decided that I would try it and see if it would help. First of all, I was unhappy that I get charge a large annual service fee just for having the credit card. Secondly, when I was trying to buy my college books I needed to use some of the money so I decided I would get a cash advance. There is a ten dollar cash advance fee. Not only did I get socked one month of having an annual fee and a cash advance charge but I also was...

My own personal experince with capital one credit cards.Lets see at time i'm very pleased with thier services. Other times i'm not to happy with them. Their low monthly payment and interest rates are great. I like how they slowly let me work to higher my credit limit. They try and fixs mistakes that are made on they behalf. Very quickly and hassel free. the down side is at time it is very hard to understand some of their customer service repersentive, some have stong accects or dont explain things in the most broken down format. They over draft fee at times are very vey ridulous when it comes...

I have had a Capitol One platinum credit card for years.  In May I received a letter stating that they were raising my interest rate to 17.9 or I could decline this offer and stay at the current rate of 9.9%, however the account would be closed.  I called the number on the back of the card and talked with a gentleman in India.  They have a very strong accent and talk very fast and I was having a terrible time understanding him.  Asked for someone in the USA and then he forwarded the call to the USA.  They said that because of the new laws for credit cards, they were raising my interest rate...

THis company was a big pain in the ass to work with not that all credit cards companies aren't. I would get charged for every little thing so finally I just got fed up giving away all this extra money so I decided to cut da card up untill i didn't know what it was. They have some of the top of the line bad service and disresceptfull empolyees. If I could find the customer service rep. that i talk to i would punch him directy in the nose. This unprofessional, uneducated piece of monkey shit started yelling at me when I was the one that got over billed. Instead of making me happy like Mickey D's...

I have had my Capital One Visa card for several years and they recently informed me they were raising my rate (like other cards are doing). I have never really had any problems with them, other than they wouldn't increase my limit to do a balance transfer, which was dissapointing because I wanted to consolidate my debt onto one card and at the time, Capital One had the best interest rate. Their customer service is pretty good and you can actually understand their service reps. It may be trivial, but I do like the fact that they offer different card designs (I have the leopard print one). I think...

The Visa Debit card works great!!!!! I enjoy it because i can add as much money as i would like to the card and never worry about having to pay more or less. There is only one downturn everytime you add money to the card they take 10.00 dollars for doing it. If Visa could change that policy it would be better. I can put 1000.00 dollars on the card and i know that there wont be anymore or less on it. I really enjoy the visa debit card and would reconmend it to people that cant get credit. SO i recomend this to everyone come on it's not that hard and the card comes in the mail after just 1 week....
