Most HelpfulI have personally had some credit card issues in the past and try to steer clear of them. However, my capital one card is the only card I still have and use. The rewards are pretty good. I simply put my gas and groceries on the card through the month- pay it off at the end of the month and in the...

Most HelpfulI have been a Capital One card member for over 8 years. During this time period my bill has been paid on time each billing cycyle however when I request a lower interest rate I have been repeatedly told "you are at the best possible rate available, I suggest you call back in a few months". After going through this cycle repeatedly for several years I have yet to see any changes. My credit is in good standing yet a 19.99% interest rate is "the best possible rate" I find this very hard to believe.
There have been several other times I have had to communicate with customer service and each...
read full review »I give Capital One credit card a poor rating. The card was actually great until I missed a few payments.I know what you are thinking that is your fault why did you miss payments?Well yes I admit that was the beginning of my mistake.I tried to fix my problem I made a phone call to capital one to set up a payment plan. Will let me start from the beginning I was behind 25.00 like i said I missed two payments my balance with late fees and interest was 225.00.So i set up a payment plan the lady on the phone knocked my balance down to 95.00 as long as I agreed to pay it within fourteen days I sent the...
read full review »I've had horrible experiences with Capital One and I know multiple people that have as well. I've had a credit card from Capital One for over two years and I haven't even used my card in months. I was late on a payment twice, once was only by one day. They sent me a letter saying they were going to issue me an annual fee unless I cancel my card and they raised my interest rate. I always pay more than my minimum payment and my balance is right around $100. I think it's just ridiculous that they don't work with you more. My boyfriend has had more problems with Capital One than I have. ...
read full review »Every time I make a charge on my capital one credit card my account gets restricted. They think that every time I make a charge that it's fraud. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the phone with them, trying to understand them, fixing my account. I am so sick of it and plan on canceling the card as soon as I pay it off. I had the same problem with the debit card until they got rid of the debit service. I never had a problem with the credit card until now. I guess they had to transfer it somewhere.
I have had my Capital One credit card for about six years. I signed up for it when I was in college. I had never had a credit card before, but I knew how to be wise about using it, having seen how my parents used credit cards.
Signing up for it was easy enough, and a few days later, it came in the mail. Since then, I've had my credit limit increased three times. Capital One has never automatically put a "Free Trial" of something for thirty days on the card, only to have me pay monthly for whatever I supposedly subscribed to until I have to call them and remove said subscription. They don't waste...

This is about CapitalOne Bank Visa and Mastercard
Over the years, my husband and I accumulated 4 CapitalOne Visa and 1 CapitalOne Mastercard. I am going to tell about the experiance I have had with my cards issued by CapitalOne Bank. I got a letter in the mail telling me I had been pre-approved for a Platinum Visa. Just call the 800 number and I did. A few weeks later I had my very own Visa card with a $500 limit. The interest rate was 9.99 percent. Just about every month I was getting letters telling me I had been pre-approved for another credit card even though I had just gotten...
read full review »The Capital One Visa Platinum business card is a great card to own. For one it covers all your business needs. The customer service for this card is great, and Capital One overall has a great company. A few times when I sent my payment in late they didn't charge me any late fees or service charges. If I ever had a complaint about a certain issue they always worked in my favor and fixed there problem according to what I said. I have had experience with a lot of companies that were one sided and did not want to take back certain late charges or fees but Capital One always took care of the...
read full review »In reviewing several cards that I had a balance on and was working to pay off I was surprised to see that Capital One was the only card that didn't raise their rates and increase their payment amounts during the changing economy.
I had a few cards that I had been using for years that suddenly spiked the rates for no other reason that I can determine other than the economy. I had cards with 9% rates suddenly change to 23.9%. I had always made my payments on time and had been with some of these major credit card companies for five to ten years. My plan is to pay off all cards...
read full review »I've owned the Capital One Platinum Visa since 2004, starting out with a very low credit limit and though my credit numbers have increased greatly since then, not once have they ever increased my limit. The interest is significantly lower than my other cards, but the overage charges are outrageous. $40 if I'm so much as .01 over the limit. And there's absolutely no notification when you cross that line. Other cards just cut you off when you reach that line, but this one will let you continue and notch up fees in the process.
While I appreciate Capital One for taking a chance on me and giving me...
read full review »Capital one is a credit card i would not suggest to open uless there are no other options available. I have been their customer for more than three years, always paying on time and never going over the credit limit. Out of the blue they have raised my APR from 8 percent to 17 a couple of months ago. They have justified their actions as an unfortunate but necessary measures . I do understand many credit card companies are raising APR's now due to hard economic times, however not more than double! It is a rip off!
I have an account with bank of america, american express, chase and city...
