Capital One - Platinum Visa Review

This is about CapitalOne Bank Visa and Mastercard

Over the years, my husband and I accumulated 4 CapitalOne Visa and 1 CapitalOne Mastercard.  I am  going to tell about the experiance I have had with my  cards issued by CapitalOne Bank.  I got a letter in the mail telling me I had been pre-approved for a Platinum Visa. Just call the 800 number and I did.  A few weeks later I had  my very own Visa card with a $500 limit. The interest rate was 9.99 percent. Just about every month I was getting letters telling me I had been pre-approved for another credit card even though I had just gotten one from them.  I got the second one and it was for a $1000 limit. The interest rate on this one was also 9.99 per-cent. This was a good interest rate at that time. The one thing I did not realize was that there was also a $ 3.00 a month maintaince fee on each of these cards. ( by this time my husband had gotten 3 cards with a total limit of $ 2500 same interest and also the maintaince fees)

We finally got to the point that we were only paying the minimium payment on each one of the cards and that was over $200 a month.  I called and asked them if we could combine all the cards into one and just make one payment but was told that could not be done as we were now over extended. ( due to the fact that we has purchased a new automobile) I asked them how when they were the ones that financed the automobile, Why would they finance us if they knew it was going to Over Extend us?  Over the next year I noticed that the finance charges were higher and higher. When I got to looking I noticed that the interest rates on the cards had been raised to over 19 %. I called them and never did get a satisfactory answer as to why.

Never get a credit card unless you get it from the local bank you do your local banking with where you can see them face to face if you have a problem
