Most HelpfulI have been a Capital One cardholder for a few years now. I am someone who is not very good at sticking with a budget, has a very low income (inspite of having three jobs between my husband and I) and my credit card is rarely paid off. Many times I've had to use my card for necessities like gas to...

Most HelpfulSadly...like many in this country now, I am a "victim" of divorce and later bankruptcy. And I do use the word "victim" seriously.
When no one else would even look at my credit application for a credit card, Capital One did. Naturally, it's a rather low credit limit. That's OK...I don't want...
review »If the truth be told, I rarely use my Capital One MasterCard any more and I easily clear the balances (for insurance premiums) every month but I will always owe them a great debt. Years ago, when I was recovering from credit card problems which had almost swamped me and no one else would have taken a chance on me, Capital One stepped up to the plate and granted my application for a card. It was some sort of charity card so that whatever rewards I earned were given to somebody else. Although I appreciated my Capital One Master Card and used it responsibly and frequently at first, as time...
review »I don't have that much experience when it comes to credit cards. I'm very wary when it comes to signing up for cards because, lets face it, one false move and there goes your credit!
Capital One Mastercard was my first card. I had a few problems with the card, in particular the fee posting dates seemed to change whenever they felt like it. I was assured that the dates didn't change by a member of customer service but, sure enough, month after month they would pick a different day to charge my account. Another issue is the interest rate. It was ridiculously high (in the mid twenties on...
Capital One Mastercard is a great "starter" card, low credit limit can be raised with regular use and prompt payments. hard to get into trouble, but plenty of credit for college students or people that like to pay cash that need plastic.
I have had three different cards with this company . they will work with you If you have financial trouble. They are a large company and when I had my cards with them they were always understandingand very friendly. as with any charge card you need to pay your bill in a timely matter. I did fall behind a few times due to medical reasons or loss of income. THEY weere wiling to give me extra time to pay my bill. As long as I paid something or made an effort that's all they asked. Most of my other charge cards I had got very irrate and demanded their money right away and weren't willing to work...
review »I have had lots of different credit cards because i usually end up getting rid of them because they do not make me happy with all of the schemes they have pullled with hidden charges and such. I have never had a problem like that with my capital one card. I would say that i will have this one for a lifetime because it is the best i have had and they have very nice people who are willing to help with any questions i have had. I had a little trouble with one of my payments and they said they would take away the late charges so that i wouldn't get behind this help tremdously and i'm am very grateful...
review »This card was easy to get, but when I called to try to get a lower interest rate, they wouldn't budge. I had 3 years of solid payments, none late, and they wouldn't budge. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere.
I had some car repairs where I had to use this card and that ran up my balance. In trying to pay it off, I wanted to save as much money as possible. What consumer isn't trying to save money. I feel that good customer service is essential regardless of what business you're in. When they wouldn't lower my interest rate (21.5%), I felt I had no choice but to take advantage...
