I first applied for the Capital One Visa when I started college and was looking for a way to build credit and to have an emergency credit card. The interest rate was, and still is, very high compared to its competitors. When I applied, I was told there would be no annual fee. To this day, I still call every year to ask them to remove the annual fee. Over tha past 5 years, they annual fee has been removed twice. The customer service with my Capital One Visa is not very well either. When I speak to the representatives they are usually rude and not willing to help. The Capital One website is not as friends as the competitors sites as well. I find it much easier to use the Chase website when trying to look at balances, make payments and check my statement. I have been contemplating getting rid of this credit card, and likely will by the end of this month because there are no benefits with having this credit card. I would not apply for this credit card unless you are a young person looking to build up some credit.
