I have constantly heard about how "Resident Evil"  was the ultimate in survival horror.  And I have to agree with the assesment.  Although it doesn't have the creep factor of say, a 'Silent Hill', or a "Fatal Exposure", it more than makes up for it in it's action.

The storyline is deep and detailed.  And the game makes full use of the entire game controller.  No tjust one or two buttons.  Plus the puzzles are pretty straight forward.  I always puzzles where you don't know if there 'is' a puzzle.

The only problem I ever had was with the controller action.  At one point you have to avoid...

Resident Evil 4 was an absolutely excellent title for the Nintendo Gamecube thanks to its very intense horror based game play, huge list of weapons, and stunning full 3D graphics. Really the only problem with the game was the cube system itself, everyone's favourite lunch box console didn't even come close to matching the success of the Playstation2 and that's means a lot of gamers have yet to play this superior game when it first came out. Fortunately in the Fall of 2005 Capcom would release a new version of Resident Evil 4 exclusively for the PS2 here and see why you should get off your butt... review »

This has to be my favorite game of all time. Action packed and full of puzzles so it takes a little brain power as well as skill. I first played the Game Cube version which I like more. It started out as a dare, my best friend at the time dared me to beat it because he couldn’t get past the opening sequence and he didn’t think I would be able to either. I wasn’t wild about survival horror or any type of horror for that matter, bar the Clock Tower games I grew up on. I accepted the challenge and 10 minutes in I was hooked.

The plot of this one is a little different. No details...

This game is amazing. The interface is easy and beggineers should catch on quick. The story is about a secret service agent Leon, out to rescue the president's daughter. When he enters the village a group of unknown villagers with an amazing power shows up and prevents him from getting to ashely, the presidents daughter.

This game has action elements as well as rpg elements. After every kill there is a chance to recieve items, money, or treasure where you can sell these off and buy upgrades for weapons, a larger item box, or new and stronger weapons. You can also buy items such as first aid sprays....

Its a really good game it has good graphics and is hard to end but not if u know whts going on it also has a bit weak fighting statistics when u dont feel like using a gun so u can fight but that wont be really good and the storyline is really good and strong and the gameplay is above average at the beginning but when  u get a hold of the controls u could become expert in the game

This is a great game...many thought that the new approch by the creaters would be devastating but the result was amazing...the ps2 version even has some extra content...but either the ps2 or gamecube versions are just as good...they manage to take a system with releativly bad graphics and turn it into a truly stunning game...

So I remember seeing RE4 when it came out and it looked super cool. I remeber enjoying resident evil 2 back in the day...and was hearing good things about this one. But I didn't want to buy it just yet. It eventually became a "greatest hits" game ($20.00) but I never got around to it. My girlfriend is awesome and pays attention to my interests so she got me this game (as part of Resident Evil: The Essentials). So far I have only played this one...and it was AWESOME! I am not the bravest guy in the world when it comes to scary movies and the like, so this game's music, dark atmosphere, and creepy...

What is there to say about Resident Evil 4? Let's start by talking about the controls. The method of movement are tank-like, which might be a turn-off for some, but in truth it actually adds to the tension and the atmosphere. It is one of the rare few games that can do what this game does and still win me over. The graphics are really quite good for a mid-generation PS2 game, and even hold up against some today's games. Hit detection is well done. When the parasites burst out of the Ganados, I freak out. The story is really well written. The fact that you can upgrade your weapons and buy new ones...

Resident Evil 4 has you take the role of Leon, the man who has to save the President's daughter from freaked out enemies of Los Illuminados, a cult that wants to take over the US government. But these are not zombies. These enemies are infected with Las Plagas, a virus that enables your enemies to attack you without being as dumb as zombies. But those who have a full grown parasite inside them, have a humongous parasite protrude of its head to cut you with its blades, or chop your head off. Be prepared for bosses who have awesome capabilities because of Las Plagas, but vulnerabilities as well.... review »

Whenever I think of Survival-Horror as a genre, I recall memories of gritty graphics, horrid soundtracks and cheap sound bytes. Resident Evil 4 (aka REIV) promoptly put a bullet in that memory, killing it for good. My first comment when I started playing this PS2 icon was "Oh my God, CAPCOM finally did it!" I looked at my son, who was mesmerized by the color quality in the opening video (of course, it could also have been due to the fact that he was about 4 months old. Gotta love colors.) "They finally cleaned up the series."
Gone are the days of blocky-pixelled zombies inching across the screen,...

I was never really a big fan of the Resident Evil series, but this title changed everything for me.  After the opening FMV, I was 100% hooked!  A great story keeps you on the edge of your seat from the time you start until after you finish the game.  The voice acting was done very well and the graphics are a solid as graphics can be.  You'll fall in love with the characters (as well as some of the villians) which will prompt you to replay this game.  Luckily, after you beat the game, new content will be unlocked which will provide some degree of replay value for you.  There is also a bonus...

Zombies with Chainsaws, picks, knives and other dangeous weapons are trying to kill you while you attempt to rescue the president's daughter!  What a concept!  That can only be a plot for a Resident Evil game.  This game is not for the faint of heart or the squeemish.  Blood, guts, decapitated heads and corpses are just that beginning of this gruesome game.  The controls are solid, the story is engaging, the graphics are almost Playstation 3 QUALITY!!  You are agent Leon Kennedy on a mission to save the presidents daughter from the evil tyrant Sadler.  You will battle Zombies, Rabid Dogs...

Resident Evil 4 by Capcom is one of the latest games in the Resident Evil series. Set in a deserted town in England, one must fight their way through hordes of flesh-eating zombies, grotesque monsters, and evil minions. You start off playing as character Leon S. Kennedy, who also appears in Resident Evil 2. You must save the presidents daughter and escape the fortress that she is imprisoned in.

With superb graphics and excellent auto-aim features, this makes Resident Evil 4 an ideal choice for gamers. Made for PlayStations 2, the Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo Gamecube, you can find this game...

Resident Evil 4 is a really great game for the people who like mystery and adventure in their life. Resident Evil 4 starts off by one simple kill in a house and once that kill is made prepare yourself for the best adventure you can encounter. The jumps that you get out of Resident Evil 4 are really unexpected, they will jump out of anywhere and atack you with no mercy. Also, it has many puzzles that need to be solved before continueing the adventure, but be careful they can be tricky. So go and enjoy yourself by renting or buying this game. It is satisfing
