What is there to say about Resident Evil 4? Let's start by talking about the controls. The method of movement are tank-like, which might be a turn-off for some, but in truth it actually adds to the tension and the atmosphere. It is one of the rare few games that can do what this game does and still win me over. The graphics are really quite good for a mid-generation PS2 game, and even hold up against some today's games. Hit detection is well done. When the parasites burst out of the Ganados, I freak out. The story is really well written. The fact that you can upgrade your weapons and buy new ones is, as always, a welcome feature as all enemies gain invisible bullet-proof vests. The constricted ammo supply stays trye to the survival/horror genre, making this game all the more exciting. The sound track is possibly the best of all horror games I've ever played. It really makes the game's atmosphere the best in the genre. I dare you to try and find a better one. Lastly, there's the games replay value. Some will say that there is no reason to keep playing once you finish the first play-through. I say different. The Proffesional mode, Mercenaries mini-game, Assignment Ada, and the PS2 exclusive Seperate Ways all add up to give this game incredible replay value.
