I was looking for a point and shoot camera that was small enough to take with me when I went out, everyone I spoke to recommended the power shot series. I decided to go with the600 and I'm glad I did! Initial impressions of the camera were good, it was a beautiful little thing that would fit in a pocket without any problems - not that you would want to let this little camera roam free around your pocket without protection. On the back the first thing you notice is the large 2.5" LCD screen which even copes well in bright light. My only complaint with the optical view finder is its very small and hard to use effectively, if this doesn't bother you and you're more than happy to use the LCD most of the time then it can't be faulted in this respect. The only other complaint I have with this camera is the lack of customisable options - it has the standard colour profiles, exposure time etc but for more advanced options you either have to dig or there not there but then again it is sold as a point and shoot. I bought mine along with a 2gb SD card. The pictures taken by this camera are of a high quality and a useful feature is the ability to take widescreen resolution pictures - perfect for those of us with widescreen monitors.
