Takes great pictures

4

I love this camera. I have had this camera probably longer than I should given all the newer models that are out there, but it still works so well, takes great pictures, and I am really comfortable with it. I still have the original canon rebel dlsr. The stock lens wasn't something I bothered with and bought after market canon lenses. The one feature I miss is being able to take hd video. I don't think I need anymore mps or sensors, so really the missing video feature would be what would drive me to get a new camera. I highly recommend a canon dslr if you are looking for a easy to use camera for any photog and any type of photography. Battery Life I have needed to replace the battery, but only once.

I love the way my Canon DSLR clicks!!

I have bought my Canon EOS DSLR on 1st July'07. It came with EF 18-55 wide angle lens. It is really handy and a good camera for the biginner and dabbler photographers. There are lot many options like a regular point and shoot, which are suitable for the biginner photographers and for those who are seeking more deep into advanced photography skills, they have the chance to use the manual mode to shoot pictures in RAW picture mode. Different picture styles, including couple of custom settings. I like the wide ISO range (100-1600). It is easy to clean and very great sensor to obtain a price-paid quality picutes. I usually used a 50 mm single fixed element lens, which gives me amazing quality, sharper edge pictures. Also use a IS 70-300 telephoto lens, which goes well with this lens. Howeve, due to lack of in built VR technology in Canon, it needs to be supported on a tripiod when shooting fireworks etc. A minor set back is, if you use a RC-5 remote controller, it has 2 sec lag time to fire the shot.

Canon EOS D60 - GREAT camera!!!

5

If you happen to find a Canon EOS D60, snatch it up and don't look back!  I picked this up as a refurbished body a few years ago.  Even then it was older.  This camera takes perfect pictures every time.  It uses EF lenses, so I was able to take the lenses I was using with my film Rebel and transfer them over easy peasy.  The images on this camera are sharp and the color is true to form.  It's a heavy camera, but nothing like the newer models.  I also find that compared to my newer camera I also use, the battery life on this is very good.  I can take pictures for twice as long easily with this, even using flash, than my new Nikon DSLR.  This camera has all of the features you'll see on the newer DSLR's.  I use it mostly to take pictures of my kids.  It is immediate, absolutely no lag time.  I always get my shots.  If you find one of these, buy it - you won't regret it.  Happy shooting!

this makes me look like a professional

This is a great camera, and gives you good options. Novice photographers can use the presets easily, while more experienced people can customize the shot as they want. My daughter got this for me, and I love it. I use it to take pictures of the grandkids all the time!

GREAT

I compare a lot of Digital cameras before bought this one. I was looking for an Nikon Digital camera, but it did not offer me as much as this one, Great for amateur photographers or proffesionals. The color improvements are fantastic. I prefer a little larger camera than the XTi but solved this with the battery hand grip. Add the 70-300 lens and you are ready for most anything. The continous (3 frames/second) shooting can only be selected in the Portrait or Sports mode. It does not appear that this option is available in the normal shooting mode.
