My digi-rebel is the best thing I own!

Pros

    battery last a really long time, Easy as a point and shoot, can print at very large sizes, Beautiful photo quality, Great shots!, Professional, almost no delay, Awesome picture quality

Cons
    Lens cover hard to keep up with!, expensive add ons - like lenses, Bulkier than a point and shoot

If my house was on fire I would run back in for my camera. It is by far the best money I've ever spent on a material thing.  My pictures are outstanding and while I am definitely a photography hobbyist, it really is the camera.

Even the kit lens allows you to take the most stunning photographs. Since I got my camera, I've had 2 sisters get married and neither bothered with a professional photographer as I had my camera and plenty of memory. The batteries last long enough, it is very user friendly (I can really lend it to anyone and still get good pics) and totally reliable.
