Canon D10 is perfect for water-loving families

5

I bought this camera after I purchased a season pass to a local waterpark.  I wanted to be able to capture the fun without worrying about storing a camera and keeping it dry.  So I strapped it on my wrist and off we went.  I was not disappointed!  It was scary the first time I got it wet but sure enough, it held up.  I got some great shots on the waterslide and in the splash pool. The camera is super durable too.  I've dropped it a few times but it takes a beating and keeps going. The one thing I would like to change is to make it easier to choose your type of shot.  I owned a casio previously and you could choose whether you were photographing sports, kids, landscapes, etc., and the camera would automatically adjust the settings.  There doesn't seem to be a lot of adjusment with this one, or if there is, it's not very intuitive.  I'm pretty tech-savvy but can't figure it out. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who has a water-loving family!

Canon D10 is perfect for my travel adventures

I purchased the Canon D10 camera as soon as it went on the market in the U.S.  It is exactly what I had been looking for - durable, water-resistant, resilient in extreme temperatures, and, of course, digital.  I took it to Antarctica, and never had a problem with it working.  I also took it to Greece, where it was 110, and it worked fine.  I have used it in the ocean.  The only problem there was with the focus, but later I found an "underwater" setting that may have resolved the problem.  I am not afraid to let my niece and nephew use it, because they can not easily damage it.  In fact, within about a week of my purchase, I had not attached the wrist strap and dropped the camera (instead of dropping my nephew).  It got banged up and scratched, but it still works fine more than a year later. Cons: It is pricey, to say the least.  The photos might not be *as good* as some of Canon's other cameras.  It it quite bulky and certainly not as compact as many digital cameras these days.

Lots of photographic fun for clumsy people like me!

The Canon Powershot D10 is both smart looking and smart in action. You can get going really quickly with it's simple set up, though do bear in mind when you are buying that you will need a memory card, which in most cases won't come with the camera as standard. The camera's various functions are simple to use and pretty intuitive, even for a non-nerd like me! The lcd is quite large and the buttons are clearly marked and simple to operate. I haven't put the camera through too much rough use yet but so far I'm very happy. I also like that it has a rechargeable battery - far better than my last camera, which ate its way through truckload after truckload full of AAs! One other little thing that I like is the bright blue color of the D10. Why? Because when I go out diving, hiking, snowboarding, etc, I'm highly likely to drop the camera or otherwise lose it. The bright color makes it all the more likely that I'll actually find it again! On that note, I'd recommend getting some kind of float to attach to the leash provided if you intend to take the camera near any deep water. The leash that comes with the camera is useful but basic and, seeing as the D10 is designed for harsh and adventurous treatment, a float is definitely a good idea. Finally, I'd like more optical zoom on the D10 but that's about it. The pictures I've taken so far have worked out well and the few knocks I've given the camera haven't made an iota of difference, so yay on shockproof!

a very amazing waterproof camera

I own this kind of camera for almost a year now, it was given to me by my husband. I was a envious of my friends water proof cameras it was another brand, we had lots of fine underwater pictures then. But when i had this Canon Powershot D10 it has amazing pictures, we had a lot and wonderful clear under water pictures and videos from our vacation, and its effects can make you feel artistic. We have a 2 year old daughter and were an outgoing person, so it may sometimes fall or get bump, our camera has its proof of bruises, this shockproof really works, its big appearance make it more durable, the looks will surely makes you trust it. I like blue so my husband picked the blue color for me, but it has a lot of catchy color for you to choose from and if your the perky type there are also fatigue in different colors, it might look like a toy though. The camera is very easy to handle my 2 year old daughter can even take pictures with it, and because it has a nice wide viewable screen, she was able to see and take the right picture. My friends, family and relatives are also amazed of its features, its 12.1 megapixels makes me so happy when watching concerts cause i dont need to be at the very front to have a close up picture, and its video capabilities makes me think twice of buying a video camera, because the sound is clear too. I think I'll have this camera for a long time, even if theres a lot of underwater camera's out in the market now...This is tried and tested for me!!!

The Canon PowerShot D10 Digital Camera is one with style.

The Canon Powershot D10 is the perfect camera for underwater use.  It's very protective and won't be damaged.  But unfortunately you can't take off the protective covering and is quite a poor design for an everyday use camera.  It's also slightly expensive and to some may seem unattractive.  But that extra layer that it has keeps is safe from the cold up to as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, from drops of up to four feet high, and in the water at depths up to 33 feet.  With waterproof protection, there also comes dust proof protection as well.  This camera is not perfect for everyday use, but when you're out in the snow, sand or surf, then you've got the perfect camera.  The photo quality of this camera despite the few flaws that it has is excellent.  The buttons on the camera are slightly bigger than usual, which makes for easy use if using gloves.  The D10 is a basic 12-megapixel point-and-shoot camera to its core.
