I upgraded to this camera a few years ago after having to put up with a Nikon Coolpix for a long time that just wasn't up to snuff. The Canon PowerShot SD800 IS, however, is a wonderful change. This camera has taught me to love photography. Being a complete amateur when it comes to taking pictures, this camera makes it extremely easy. The settings and features are easy to use, the zoom is great (and maintains the quality of the picture while giving it a watercolor kind of look to it if you choose to zoom all the way out to 15x), and the auto focus does extremely well. What I love is that you can choose not to have flash on the auto setting, and it's easy to toggle between your stored pictures. The extra settings (such as aquarium and kids & pets setting with a higher shutter speed) are awesome, and this has a much longer battery life than my Coolpix did. All in all, a great compromise for those who want a fancier, more professional kind of camera but can't quite afford one yet.
