Great little camera

5

I believe this was my very first canon camera. This camera was so small, so easy to carry around! I had this during my first couple of years of college. This is how i recorded all those memories. The battery life was great on this little camera, as well as the quality of the photos I took. I actually gave this little camera to my dad when I updated to a newer powershot. We still have it and it still works great, which says a lot about a product when it still functions just as well as it did 8 years ago. It is also very easy to get your photos from your camera to your computer. This was a really nice camera and i am happy to say that i had owned it and used it for many years. I highly suggest using a canon camera, there much better then any cheaper brands such as kodak, sony, fuji and etc. If you own one of these or a newer version just take care of it and it will last you years! Such a great camera and company!

Fantastic Camera!!!

Love this camera! So many options! Good battery life. This camera takes really nice pictures with or without the flash. It has slow motion setting for action pictures and other cool setting that you can check out. I really like the way the charger works. You can put the battery pack into the battery charger plug, makes it pretty simple to do. I just plug it in at night and it is ready to go in the morning. This camera is very durable and super nice! My 4 and 5 year old daughters have stolen it a few times when I wasn't looking and acidentally dropped it, it is still going strong and doesn't even show the abuse. Pretty tough little thing if you ask me!

Love it!

I love this camera!  It's so small and compact that I can take it anywhere!  It's easy to use for those who aren't camera savvy and it has so much more for those who are!  The battery pack is easy to take out and charge up and it lasts for a while before you have to charge it again.  The pictures always turn out great b/c you can center on the pic before shooting and then you can view it to see if it looks good!  Uploading the camera pictures to my laptop is so easy!  You just use the adapter, turn the camera on, and a screen pops up with easy choices to folllow!  I have friends and family that have this camera as well and love it!  The best part is that as a mommy I take it with me everywhere in my diaper bag cell phone pouch because it's so small and I can capture those "once in a lifetime" pictures or take a small video of what my children are doing, and have those moments to share and remember forever!

Great camera but hard to hold on to.

I was very satisfied with the quality of pictures this camera takes. I found it to be user-friendly for the most-part, even for a novice such as myself. And silly as it sounds, I had fun with the fish-eye feature. The camera has a very sleek design and is quite compact. This is great for carrying but the sleek design makes it a bit hard to hold on to. My husband dropped ours within 2 months, shattering the viewing screen and completely destroying it. I also found the connection for the USB cable to be hard to get to and I was constantly afraid I would break off the cover. We've decided not to purchase another sd1400. Although it is a great camera, we need something a little sturdier.

this is a cute camera. i love all the shades they have. it might be a little pricey but if you find a good deal then you can get it at a good price. they go on retail for almost 200 bucks but a good deal can get it for under 100. i love how quick they take pictures and all the multi function options they have. it's small and it's light. it's quick to upload pictures. it's user friendly and very simple to use. anyone can use this. if you want a camera good to carry around for parties, this is the perfect one. it fits in almost all bags. light and easy to carry around. i would def recommend this to all my friends and family. canon is a graet brand and i wouldnt switch at all. i used to have a fuji and taht was a pain. the quality wasnt even as good

The best canon camera ever!!!

The canon powershot SD1400IS 14.1 MP image stabilized zoom and 2.7 inch LCD black digital camera is one of the best camera I have ever had in my entire life. The style of the canon powershot Sd1400IS 14.1 MP image stabilized zoom and 2.7 inch LCD black digital camera is great. The size is perfect which makes it so easy to carry around without problems. The picture quality is great, there is no blurryness which is great. Also, the canon powershot SD1400IS 14.1 MP image stabilized zoom and 2.7 inch LCD black digital camera is able to zoom in and out before you take a photopgraph and after you took the photograph you can zoom in and out while you are looking at it. It can video record which has great sound quality plus you can edit it after video recording and fixing the things you do not want on it. The canon powershot SD1400IS 14.1 MP image stabilized zoom and 2.7 inch LCD black digital camera is the only one you can buy.

I love this camera

I love this Cannon Camera! It is so small it fits in your pocket or pocketbook. It is so easy to carry everywhere you go and super easy to use too! It is perfect in every way and I feel good about the money that we spent on the camera. I feel that it was money well spent. My husband got me this last year for Christmas and I have really enjoyed it. I wanted a smaller camera that I could carry with me easily and I love it! It takes great pictures and I can carry it everywhere! The only reason that I was reluctant to purchase a smaller camera was that I was worried about the quality of the pictures that it would take but all of the pictures that I have taken have been crisp and clear and I am so pleased with it!I would highly recommend this camera to anyone that it is the market for a new one or just wants an additional one! The price is reasonable, the pictures are fabulous and the camera is compact... FIVE STARS!

Canon PowerShot SD1400IS, great for your everyday user!

5

I bought this camera for my aunt, who is not really good with electronics and new technologies.  After trying it out for a few days, I can say that this a fantastic camera for anybody and everybody.  The device is very sleek and sexy looking; small, but still able to pack a nice sized screen.  I messed around largely on the automatic setting, as this is what I figured she would be using the most.  Automatic photos look spectacular.  The camera really does do a great job at adjusting to different environments and lighting without any need for user input.  The HD video option is great as well.  The user interface is pretty easy to navigate.  I you've ever owned a digital camera before you should be able to find the options and seetings you need faitly easilly.  After getting a few of the photos printed, I can confess to the excellent image quality, even in poor lighting.  Not only do they look good on the screen, but also on photo paper.  Overall, a great camera for your everyday purson who likes to take occasional photos without any hassle.

Great camera, but with Some Drawbacks

3

This is a good camera. It's compact, lightweight, and with video recording capability. Unfortunately, the pictures that came out seems to be a bit blurry. The blurriness does not appear on the overall picture. They appear only on some spots of the picture. Maybe the focus is not working very well. For example, I took a picture of 4 people. It was able to detect the first 3 faces. The result that came out is that the fourth person has a blurry face. In addition, some objects that appear on that picture came out blurry too. When using the auto mode, I realize that the pictures always out pale (colors too light). To correct this problem, I always use the my colors function (custom color) in the program mode. In custom color, I set everything (red,green,blue...) to the max except the skin colors I left it to the middle.  This way, the pictures always come out enhanced with dark and vivid colors. I feel that the pictures come out nicer using that setting, but this is only my personal preference.  I really like the HD video recording capablility.  I bought a 16 gb sdhc card so I could take lots of pictures and videos with it.  Unfortunately, you could only take up to 10 minutes of hd video recording each time. It will stop at the 10 minute mark, and you will have to press the button again in order to continue recording. Also, it won't allow you to pause while recording. The only thing you could do is to stop it and then start over. Everytime you stop the recording, it will create a new video file (mov file).  The HD video comes out to be very good. However, one must have steady hands while doing the video recording. It's kind of tough to accomplish that due to the light weight and compact size of the camera. I couldn't stop my hands from shaking while shooting around and changing angles. As a result, I found myself sometimes getting dizzy watching the HD videos that I recorded.

A little disappointed

3

I have always been a huge proponent of Canon point and shoot cameras.  I have always preferred them over all other brands in the point and shoot category.  However I was slightly disappointed with the quality of some of the pictures I've taken with this camera.  Previous to this model I had a Canon SD800is which I absolutely loved.  The SD1400 does a great job with video but when it comes to taking just a quick shot here or there with the camera, it seems to over compensate the ISO.  Due to this the photos often come out grainy or slightly blurry or even brighter with no detail.  It does take some decent pictures, but it just seems like all too often I'll get a picture that is not acceptable at all and sometimes its hard to tell on the little view finder if its good or bad.  Because of this I generally take several shots and try to take one with the flash and one without.  The camera does have a ton of features, but I'd rather have a better picture quality.
