good standard digital camera

4

Honestly, I'm not a huge camera tech person and don't know a ton about digital cameras, but for me this is a good camera. I've used it for over 2-3 years and certainly haven't felt the need to replace it which says something. Plus, I plan to keep and use it until it breaks or something happens to it! Image Quality I don't have a whole lot to compare it to but I've used it for landscapes, portraits, kids, pets, pretty much everything you can think of and it works well for everything. It's made good pictures through multiple vacations and pets growing up. The pictures are clear, great settings to adjust for dark/light, color/black and white, etc. My one complaint is it isn't as clear for distance pictures as I'd like. I try taking pictures of birds swimming on the lake by my cabin and unless they are super close they are blurry. Performance Never had any issues with things not working. Turns on fast and easily. Love the use of taking multiple photos on dely so I can include myself in pictures with friends too! Durability I'm not the most careful person when it comes to my electronics. I carry my camera in my purse where it definitely gets knocked around a bit. There's some scratches and such on the camera but nothing enough to effect the use of the camera or quality of the pictures so I'd say it's as durable as it can get for standard using. Battery Life On vacations it usually last for a full day of sightseeing. every once in a while if I use it a lot throughout the day it can get pretty low or even die by the time I get to my charger. However, for general use the battery last more than longer enough. Portability It's nice a small and definitely easy to carry around where ever I go. If it was any smaller it'd be too small to use, but the size it's at is the perfect size for me.

Overall a great camera

This is a very slim camera that takes very decent pictures. Decent but not crystal clear. I love how easy it is to carry the camera around since it is very slim. There is a little delay when you press the button to take the picture to when it actually takes it, however it's not terrible. Image Quality The pictures are good quality but not amazing. Performance It gets the job done. Ease of Use The easiest thing to figure out. Durability It is a bit delicate. Battery Life I don't have to recharge the batter very often. Portability Its slim design makes this camera extremely portable.

Great Camera!

This is a great camera! I have had never had any other digital camera before this one but my dad has a different digital camera (not a canon). I like the canon one so much better! It takes pictures very sharply and quickly and has lots of different setting options. It also comes in different colors - I have silver. Wonderful camera!

Good But Not Great

4

My Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Digital ELPH in Green is good but not great. It uploads to the internet fast and switches from photos to video at the flip of a switch. I did actually drop it at the beach and sand got in it. My Husband had to take it apart to fix it. It still works. But Being only 10 MP (not 12.1 MP) I think it's time for an upgrade.

Nice Camera

5

It was recommended by my friend a couple of years ago, that's when I start using Canon Powershot.  It is very light and compact.  There are many great features.  For example, the continuous picture taking option is great, especially when taking pictures at an event or of young children.  In addition, the timer allows you to choose from 2 seconds to 10 seconds waiting period before taking the picture so it's great for group pictures.  The flash works very well also compare to Kodak cameras.  The only bad thing about the camera is the menu.  It is not as user friendly as Kodak cameras' menu.  You need to push many buttons to find or use a particular features (it takes many steps to accomplish one task).  For example, if you want to delete a picture, you have to go to the menu - select erase - go back out then select the pictures then select menu for delete.  Therefore, this camera is more for people that are more tech savy or quick at learning how to navigate the camera.  If someone just wants a point and click, in other words, camera for dummy or a starter camera, then this may be a bit complicated. Image Quality Very nice considered the price I paid for this camera. Ease of Use A bit more complicated with some of the features. Battery Life I can use the camera for days before I need to charge the battery Portability Small pocket size.

Love this camera!

I got this camera for Christmas, and I absolutely am in total love with it! I love the powershot zoom function, as it does zoom far, but the best thing is that even when you're zooming far away, it has auto focus, so you picture is still as sharp and clean and crisp as if you didn't use maximum zoom. The flash on the camera is quite strong however, so to avoid blinding people with the super strong light, I use the flash only when I really have to. If only there was a way to tone down the intensity of the flash, then this camera would get a 5 star, but because of that strong blinding flash, this camera only gets a 4 star. It's still a good rating however and the screen is big enough for me to preview pictures clearly, and it's easy to plug in the camera and charge it, and it's veyr easy to point and shoot and even a kid can take picture with this camera. It's very easy for people of all ages to use! Ease of Use A bit heavy Portability Very bulky and large

Canon- PowerShot SD1300IS is truly awesome.

I recieved this camera has a gift, and I must say that I truly love it. Mine is blue, and I find that it is very easy to use, which is great, when you just want to take a picture. The quality of the lens is truly exceptional, because what you see is what you get. Your pictures turn out great, and also it is user friendly, which is also a plus. A nice quality is that it highlights the face of the picture you want to take, and puts it in a small square so you can get a  much better look at it to see if you really want to keep it.  I have a Kodak Digital Camera, and I was thinking this was a very good camera until I got this one. Canon does live up to its name. The size is also wonderful, because it doesn't take up a lot of space, so I can take it with me and I'm ready to take some pictures. Once I put in my memory card, I was so happy to find out that it will hold more than 1000 pictures, which is great. Image Quality The image quality is excellent, very clear. Performance The performance so far has been working great. Ease of Use Very easy to use, because if it wasn't, I wouldn't use it. Durability Durability is excellent. It has been working very well. Battery Life The battery life is so much longer than the other camera I have. You can just charge it, and it is ready for you. Portability Portability is excellent, since it is small and you can take it with you any place.

Canon Powershot 1300 takes great pictures most of the time

4

The small, slim design will easily fit into your pocket. However, I found that my older model Canon that was bigger was easier to hold onto. Sometimes my fingers feel cramped on this one.   The 12.1 MP makes for a really nice, clear picture--when it comes out right. I am finding that my older Canon had a higher rate of non-blurry pictures than this one. But the plus is that the best picture on this camera comes out nicer than the best picture on my older Canon. I find that when I zoom in or try to do close ups I am more likely to have a blurry picture.   The display screen is nice and large, but there is no viewfinder. Not that I ever really used the viewfinder on my older cameras. I guess they just decided to phase that feature out. It has a video option, but it shoots at less than 720 (which to be fair, is a marked improvement over my older model Canon, but not as good as some of those mini HD cameras. We ended up purchasing a mini video cmaera that shoots at 720 to get the improved video quality, and so we could take pictures and videos at the same time.) Movement pictures usually turn out blurry, so that is my one complaint.

The "go anwhere" Canon SD Powershot Camera

5

Don't let the size of this very small camera fool you. It's size makes it a perfect "go anywhere" camera. The Cannon SD camera features a long list of technical features that you would expect on more expensive cameras including a powerful zoom lense for those distance outdoor shots. For us point and shoot folks this camera delivers crisp, clear beautiful pictures with just a touch of a button. I just had a print enlarged and it turned out so good that I had it framed. I'm sure the clarity had to do with things like mexapixels and resolutions but for someone like me who only wants to be able to snap, and enjoy a great picture, this camera outshines the others. My granddaughter camera has all the bells and whistles, but when taking her trip to Paris ask if she could borrow my camera. The price of the Canon SD Powershot is so reasonable, grandma thinks she will just buy her one of her own.

Nice little camera

Pros from Canon 1300: -Familiar Canon menus and more simple menu similar to Canon's SLR's. -Power button, shutter release and zoom ring were all in a comfortable layout- This is nerdy, but the 1300 is capable of using the SDXC cards, a step up from SDHC, that will become a standard sooner or later. -AutoFocus was pretty good for point and shoot, but not what I would call lightning fast. -12 MP and a decent image sensor, which is about the best a point and shoot can benefit from anyway. -The battery is removed from the camera to charge in a wall adaptor.Cons from the 1300: -More expensive than comparable cameras. -First copy I had ended up with a lens issue. Nit- picky I know, but when you pay for the best you want the best. This spooked me away from returning it for the same model, and started my looking elsewhere. -No noticeable improvements over Canon cameras released in the last two years. Tech specs are better, but hard to see the benefits over say the 1200 model.
