Canon - PowerShot SD1000 Digital Camera —

So far, my experience with the Canon PowerShot SD1000 has been great.  Being a college student, my camera really takes a beating. I take my camera virtually everywhere, and it still works perfectly after having it for over a year. The Camera is small enough that I can fit it easily into a small clutch, but solid enough that I can still hold onto it easily.

I'm a novice photographer, so I needed a camera that I could use easily without a lot of confusion. The SD1000 has an automatic setting that works well in pretty much every light. It also has a manual setting that lets me play with colors and get semi-artistic if I feel so inclined. The menu is very easy to understand.

The battery life on the SD1000 is also great. I know that many people prefer AA batteries in their cameras, but I really like the rechargable ones. They keep their life, as opposed to my old Nikon powered by AAs that seemed to lose all their juice whenever I tried to zoom in on something.

One disadvantgae of the SD1000 is a pretty small screen. While the screen is small, you can still see pretty well, and you can zoom in on the picture if need be.

All in all, this camera is sturdy, reliable, compact, and really easy to use. I recommend it for anyone who doesn't want to think to much about their picture taking, someone who wants to capture the moment without worrying about settings, lighting, etc. Great all around camera.
