It works great in the auto, mode., can use attachments, So Many Options, AA batteries, Hinged LCD, easy to use for beginners

Cons

Not pocket-sized, heavy, with 4 AA batteries

Canon - PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera —

The canon powershot is an amazing camera for an amature or someone who just wants to chronicle their lives or their childrens lives. It takes amazing pictures with very little effort from the user. The powershot has many different shooting options to ranging from manuel to action, of course it also has auto. It has a timer to help capture those family photos. It is a bit heavy but the quality of picture makes you forgot that.
