Canon PowerShot G7 Digital Camera —

The Canon G7 is an older model, but is just as good as the new G series models. It has many of the functions that many love in a SLR, but in a portable form factor. It does not support interchangeable lenses, but you can attached adapter that can allow for telephoto, fisheye, macro attachments. This particular model does not support Raw, but the new models do. It is equipped with a 2" vibrant screen that presents shoots very accurately. Most controls are conveniently position in scrolling dials that are easy on the fingers. The pictures can be shoot up to 10 mega pixels and video can also be taken at 30 frames per second. It supports SD cards, I've used 8GB class 4, but may be able to accept larger capacities.

The negatives with this device is mostly in it's price. It retails for $499 and can probably be found for 350ish since it's an earlier model. The weight of the camera may also be a turn off. It's a bit heavy for it's size and for frequent users, it may bring hand fatigue.

Overall, this is a great device. I bought and have been using it for a while now and i truly believe this is one of the better Camera series on market. If your looking for SLR type functions in a acceptable portable form factor, the Canon G7 (or G series) maybe what your looking for.
