This is my second Canon digital camera.  I loved the first one but my hubby thought I needed an upgrade and got me this one for Christmas.  I'm having a great time documenting our lives, from family events to vacations.  I'm not very technical, so this is the perfect camera for me.  Its easy to use and if I can't figure something out, the manual is easy to understand.  Nice sharp photos.  I love the flip out view screen - it makes it really easy to shoot difficult scenes.  I just keep an extra set of rechargable batteries in my camera case so I am always… read full review »

This camera is very versatile. It has all the latest advancements for the more experienced user but will not intimidate the novice.Comes with a basic and an advanced user guides. You can interchange lens and direct printfrom the camera. Our first printed pictures were incrediblely clear and the colors were deep and true to life. If your are in the market for a new camera that can be used by both the advanced picture taker and the person who just wants to point and click, then take a look at this… read full review »

I had been using my daughter's 4 Megapixel camera to take pictures of my kids' sporting events and our Scout troop, but the pictures just weren't sharp enough.  I saw an advertisement for this camera and liked the price, so I bought it along with a 2GB memory card which is necessary to store more than about ten pictures.  — The book of instructions is HUGE, but for taking every day pictures, it is pretty simple to just put it on "auto" mode and point and shoot.  My kids and I were taking pictures within ten minutes of taking it out of the box.  The instructions are… read full review »

I have 3 digital cameras (not counting my cell phone) and the Canon PowerShot A630 is the one I use 99% of the time.  This camera is small, but it takes BIG pix and great movies.  If I had to pick one feature that stands out, I would say it is the ability to connect directly to your TV via the AV jacks.  No converter necessary... you can connect and watch your movie or view a slideshow of your pix right there in your livingroom on your big screen TV.  Or, you can edit and select & print your favorite still shot from the movie.   I can say nothing bad… read full review »

  —   I wanted a digital camera that was easy to use, took great pctures, and one that I could share my pictures with family and friends. That's what I got with my Canon A630. It takes great pictures, you  can see them after you take them and delete them if they're not right. I can download them onto my computer and then share my pictures with family and friends. I take my camera with me every where, you never know when you might find that perfect picture. Even I look like a professional with the pictures that I print out at home from my camera. I have and will continue… read full review »

When I was shopping for a camera I wanted something that was easy to use right away without having to read a manual to just take a photo.  This camera takes great shots.  I like the zoom lens that auto focuses right away.  It takes great action photos without the blur that I would get on my older camera.  The LCD screen is large enough to view photos completely.  You can view and enlarge each photo to see the background detail easily. — This camera can be used by a novice like myself and a more advanced user. — The one thing I would have liked to have is a… read full review »

This camera is worth the extra money.  The flip out screen is wonderful for taking photos of you and another person.  It is also nice because you can flip the screen in to prevent scratching. — I research every big purchase to the extreme before buying and everything I read said that this was the best camera for great photos.  After having it for a year, I agree.  It takes wonderful pictures and is easy to use.  I like to edit- specifically crop photos, and this camera allows me to do that and still have wonderful pictures.  It is also easy… read full review »

My powershot takes great pictures and videos, and i really like the features it has on it (color accent makes pictures 10x more exciting!). however, my camera has broken randomly, without dropping it or spilling on it, 4 times under warranty. Now i send it in to the customer service and although it is under warranty and the repair is free, i still dont expect it to take 2 months to fix a lense. Also, as soon as the warranty ends, even if you're like me and have been having consistent problems with it, they will refuse to help. The product alone is great but the service and lifetime of it sort… read full review »

We needed a new camera and we needed a new digital camera and so I shopped around.  Found out that we didn't need both with this nifty digital camera.  This Canon PowerShot is so easy to use, as simple as a regular camera and more versitile and convenient.  And if all that isn't enough, the video capacity is great as long as you purchase a larger memory card tho.  It didn't take uslong at all to begin understanding and using this camera compared to the first digital cameras that hit the market which ate batteries like Godzilla on steroids.  Great gift idea as… read full review »

This is a sturdy little camera that takes great shots. I particularly like the swing-out view screen - it allows you to take pictures from many different angles and actually see what you're doing. And it also has an optical viewfinder, which is rare for a viewfinder. — The main reason I bought this camera is that, with a hack that you can find online, you can shoot RAW. If you're shooting RAW, you know how important this is - if you're not, go find out about… read full review »

This camera is great. It has 21 shooting modes, 4.0x Optical zoom, 16x combined zoom, easy to use software program and so much more. It's so easy to use and the quality of the pictures is fabulous! We've used it indoors, outdoors, dark lighting, nighttime, bright sunshine, and more. Modes include portrait, automatic, nighttime, and so much more. The Zoombrowser software is also easy to use - even for basic editing of pictures. We are totally pleased with the… read full review »

Pros:  Easy to use for an amateur but also has many settings and whistles for the more experienced.  Has a large lcd screen that can be swiveled closed to protect it when not in use. — Cons:  When using the lcd screen I find it hard to hold the camera still enough not to blur the picture.  Also the memory card is in an inconvient place.  Must open the battery compartment to get it out. —… read full review »

i love this camera, was a replace for my sony 3 megapixel camera, i really love this for being lightweight, high pixel size, greater optical zoom and also digital zoom and all with a such a low price. I cant  believe, with  this camera i really think that techology advancements lead to price reduction.  Different kind of modes in the camera is also really handy and lets me capture the night shot, moving shot and all other great… read full review »

I own this camera for over a year and quite satisfied with its performance, versatility  and ease of use. It is loaded with plenty of features in a relatively compact body. It is faster than average camera in this price range. Most impressive is picture quality. There is only one thing I do not like - a relatively noisy zoom mechanism. Overall Canon A630 is a very good… read full review »

It is a very easy to use. Perfect for anyone that knows nothing about digital camera. It has a large view screen that rotates.
