I've been looking for a camera since I could remember. Then for my 18th birthday my mom surprised me with the Cannon Power-Shot A570. At first glance, I was skeptical because my best friend had always used a Kodak Photo-share, So I was hoping for one of those. Although, I started fooling around with... read full review »

I chose the Canon A520IS because of the features.  Within a few months it stopped recognizing fully-charged NiMH batteries as fully charged.  Opening and closing the battery door usually solved the problem, but ultimately it refused to run and I returned it to Canon under warranty.  They sent me a...

Canon A570 IS gathers several nice features those are too important not to have with a nice price. IT is around $150 to $200 in the market and with that price you get a camera that is 7.1 mega pixel, 4X zoom and IS technology. It runs on AA batteries and 2 of them is enough unlike some previous versions of Canon with same properties. Therefore the camera is light though not light nor small as Canon SD series. This camera also uses secure digital memory cards, which are quite cheaper than some other type of memory cards out there. SD cards are also more convenient because there are other devices... read full review »

This camera has great picture quality. It is easy to use and has many features. The movie feature has good quailty and will record as much as the SD card will hold, currently I have a 1 GB installed. I have used it mostly indoors and have taken great shots at an aquarium for which it also has a setting. Even pictures where you are not allowed to use a flash come out good. I bought this camera on sale and was hesitant to actually use it as it is bigger than what I actually wanted but it won me over with its quality and features. I would recommend it to anyone. I have also found that even when the... read full review »

I read a good number of reviews before I purchased another digital camera. I'm not disappointed at all with Canon's Powershot A570. The quality of the photos is very good, and the camera is easy to figure out and use.

My suggestion to all who decide upon this camera to purchase, however, is that you also purchase rechargeable batteries and charger. This little bugger goes through batteries like you can't believe. You'll save yourself a small fortune by starting out with the rechargeable set up.

Otherwise, if I had to make the decision about a digital all over again, I'm pretty sure I would still...

This has 7.1 MP and is one of the best entry level point and shoots your money can buy.  It uses AA batteries and a SD memory card.  Because of the battery chamber, you have a nice little grip handle which a lot of cameras don't have, making it easy to put fingers in front of the flash or lens.  It also has IS (image stabilization) which really adds to the quality of your shots and allows for less rejected pics.  I noticed it can be a little slow on flash recylcing but it's not a huge inconvenience as long as you are not in a hurry to get that next special shot.  The colors are more accurate...

Before I got this camera, I went on Consumer Reports and read lots of reviews of different cameras in my price range. Canon kept coming up as a recommended brand. I narrowed it down to the A570 because it had a viewfinder and large LCD screen and was supposedly simple to use with great results. I'm not a tech savvy person and I hate reading manuals, I just wanted something I could use right out of the box. That's exactly what I got with this camera! It uses 2 AA batteries and an SD card which I immediately replaced with a bigger capacity 1 GB card. So far, I haven't exceeded that capacity. I use...

I bought my Canon Powershot A570 about a year ago and it's the first digital camera I've owned. I found it to be very user friendly.

One of the things I love about this camera is how fast I was able to understand it. I mean, I know this isn't rocket science but with no experience with this at all, I was taking pictures in less than 30 minutes after taking it out of the box.

It's not a very big camera but it's not one of those tiny, ridiculously skinny credit card sized ones either. It's just the right size for adult hands. It's size also makes it easier to replace batteries, find and use the...

i;m not the most tech savvy individual out there, but i'm not a total retard either. i knew i wanted a digital camera that was easy to use, had tons of features and was priced decently. i think i got all that in the canon powershot a570 is. i did all my research on amazon, this one had tons of reviews and most said good things. it was priced about a hundred and fifty bucks. it came really basic kit, book installation guide camera batteries. well it takes double a's, which is good and bad. when i use the lithium batteries or other high end ones, they last for a while, but your standard double a's...

Bought the Canon - PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera with Christmas money and loved it, but now that we have a baby, it is not really fast enough to capture some of the things he does.  It stalls before it actually takes the picture.  I do love the features though.  You can do video, picture (black/white, sephia).  It also has night time settings.  The red eye eliminator doesn't seem to work well.  You can turn the sound off or have noise when you take pictures, when the camera turns on-I like that because if you are at a wedding, you might not want a noise everytime you turn the camera...

My husband and I wanted a camera to take photos of our new baby.  I wanted a point and shoot film camera (easy to use and I didn't want to spend hours learning tons of settings).  I am glad my husband insisted on going digital.  This camera has many settings for my husband to play with, including manual.  I love the automatic setting - point and shoot!  The picture quaility is fantastic.  I brought the camera to my baby shower and anyone who touched it was impressed by the ease of use, large display screen and the fact that this camera has a view finder.  We all like the fact that the camera... read full review »

I feel like I spent a year researching digital cameras before finally purchasing the Canon Powershot A570.  I have been very pleased with my purchase.  Although the design may look a bit clunky, I have come to like the hand grip.  This camera can easily fit in a coat pocket or small purse, and yet has much to offer in the way of options.  When I don't want to lug along my huge SLR camera, I know that the Powershot will still do a great job of capturing the photo opportunity as I envision it.  In addition to a variety of preset options (which I don't really use, so can't comment on those),... read full review »

This is a great camera, especially for the low price. Photo quality is excellent and there are enough options and features to satisfy even the most picky user. I especially like the feature that focuses on a person in the photo and ensures that the overall exposure will be favorable for that person. Like all Canon cameras, this feels solid and works smoothly.

Note: don't be surprised if you go through a lot of batteries, especially if you use the flash -- but that's par for the course for lots of digital cameras. Best bet: use rechargeable batteries of at least 2500mAh, and carry a spare set...

The canon -PowerShot a570 IS is an awesome camera.

Phote quality is great.  I have had several 8X10 made from the pictures I took, and they were clear and crisp.

The zoom on the Canon -PowerShot a570 IS is amazing.  You can sit clear across a room and zoom in on someones face and get a clear shot.

There are tons of features on this camera, including video.  One of my favorite feature is being able to hook the camera into the tv and see you videos and pics on a big screen.

The only complaint I have with this camera would be the flash recharge time, and that is kind of a bulky camera.  But,...
