First off let me say that I do not know much about cameras other than how the picture looks at the end.  THIS PRODUCT IS EASY TO USE. IT TAKE PICTURES IN A QUALITY THAT VERY FEW HAS. THE ZOOM IS GRATE AND ABILITY TO REVIEW PICTURES IS GRATE. I have been putting off buying a new camera because I wanted to get the best for my money. this is the best. I love this camera. This camera was a great purchase for me.  I use it quite frequently.  It takes very clear pictures, the flash works great as well as the red eye reduction.  The video option takes decent videos.  The draw back is you really need a bigger memory card than what it comes with.  16 mb is not enough for much of anything these days.  If you spend an extra 20 dollars you can get a 2 gig memory stick for this easily enough.  The pictures are easy to upload to your computer, you just plug in the USB cable and it auto detects and uploads the pictures for you. —… read full review »

I got this camera as a gift last year for Christmas. It went through batteries pretty quickly so I got rechargeable ones, and they work great and last much longer. This camera works well for those "Kodak" moments, along with still shots and videos come out pretty clear and sharp too. It is a great product for the cost and seems to be durable enough. You don't have to be a pro to take pictures, I am an amateur, and it's a "snap" for me! I asked for a small digital camera last Christmas (2006), so that I wouldn't always have to bring my Rebel SLR digi with me when out and about with the kids.  this is the one DH bought me.  I love it.  Takes great pictures, easy to use, small.  We even lent it to MIL for a trip to Europe.  she is very techno niave, and she got great shots.  Granted, her granddaughters (preteens) were there to handle any tech issues!  I had one repair issue (lens would not retract after taking pics) and Canon fixed it and sent it back as good as new - no problems at all.… read full review »

I actually have a older model of this camera, but I like it very much. The main difference with mine is it takes 4 batteries instead of 2 now and the memory cards are nicer and less expensive now. Canon is a great brand, I've heard great things about them. I've talked to some professional photographers and they swear by them. Great camera, lots of options, vivid pictures. I was very pleased with this camera as i am with most canon products.  I bought this camera on sale and got a great deal. I have had a canon camera for years - a earlier model than this one but very similar.  I love it and want a newer one, probably this one.  I have used it at outdoor festivals and indoor shows.  My camera does best with natural outdoor light but flash usually does well.  For some reason my daughter often looks like she has red hair because of the flash.  But in natural light she looks blond, which she is.  But I love the… read full review »

I've taken my Canon A540 with me everywhere -- from Eastern Europe to New Zealand and last month to Thailand!  This past trip I took about 1,400 photos, so I'm in the process of classifying, deleting and arranging them.  It's so easy to do -- and nearly all of them came out great even with low light or non-optimal conditions.  It's just a darned-good, inexpensive digital camera that is very versatile.  Try it....you'll like it!… read full review »
