Good starter camera for beginner photographers.

4

Good and cheap camera for photographers trying to learn photography. Image Quality It takes great pictures, it's easy to use and is great for beginners. Performance Not the camera you want if you are wanting to take multiple pictures quickly. Like concerts for example. If the performer is constantly moving around the pictures may come out blurry. This is just a great starter camera. Great for weddings, taking nature pictures and so on. Ease of Use Very easy to use. If you want a camera that is easy to learn then Canon cameras are always the best. Durability Very durable. I take this camera just about every where and it has yet to break or cause me problems. The case is hard plastic. Even my kids have used the camera and they have yet to break it. Battery Life Uses double A batteries. It does not eat up the batteries that quickly but I'd suggest you using high quality re chargeable batteries. Portability A little heavy feel but not bad. It does have a durable strap so it is easier to carry with you.

The Power Shot A490 makes a great gift!

My daughter received the Power Sot A490 as a gift a few months ago.  So far it has held up very well.  It takes very clear pictures and is very easy to use.  I like the fact that it takes regular batteries so that we don't have to remember to charge it up before using it.  The batteries have really lasted and are very easy to change out.  It comes with two cords so that if you don't have a card reader on your computer you can just plug it in to a USB port.  I'm glad to have the cords because for some reason my card reader wouldn't read the card, but plugging it in worked very nicely.  The card holds a lot of pictures also.  The camera is sturdy.  My daughter has a little camera bag to put it in, but she hardly ever does.  I thought it might break easily and was nervous at first, but it is really holding up pretty well.  The camera is easy to use and very sturdy.  I would recommend it for a ttenager or anyone who is wanting a small camera to take digital pictures with.

Takes  good pictures.  Ilike the fact that it uses aa batteries. Its compact and easy to use.The one thing I do not like about this camera is that when using the flash it takes around 10 to 15 seconds to recharge and am able to take another picture.

Nice picture, hard to focus.

I love that this camera has the ability to take multiple pictures at a time (particular setting).  The picture quality is great with every picture taken, however, I have found that focusing on the subject is sometimes a problem.  Takes amazing pictures outdoors and so so pictures at night.  Battery life is outstanding, I know this is a problem for a lot of people with a lot of different cameras but this one seems to be amazing to me.  Easy to load batteries too. Easy to download pictures and delete them which is a plus to me.  The camera is pretty small and lightweight.  The viewing monitor seems to be easily scratched (even when taken care of properly).  We've not had a problem otherwise with durability.  I've never used anything higher than a 2G card, but have not had any problems in that area.  The biggest con I have found is the focusing problem, though that could be the operator.  Taking close ups has been a challenge (flowers) again, focus problem?
