Let me get right to it: this camera is extremely durable. I have dropped it over seven (7) times and it still works like new. The only damage it has sustained is a scratch on the LCD screen. Regarding picture quality, I don't understand why others mention grainy, fuzzy, or blurry pictures. It should be common sense by now that when you take a picture, be still as possible and keep your elbows close to your body, and maintain your center of gravity for balance. As for video recording, I recently used it last week for a school project. I was stunned that it recorded in HD and everything was extremely clear: the video and sound. I purchased this camera for use on my trips around the world and it has never let me down. The durability and size of this camera is perfect for my use and the battery lasts very long compared to my Professional DSLR cameras.  If you want quality paired with durability, don't hesitate to purchase this camera.

My husband and I bought the Canon Powershot SD780 IS as an upgrade for an older model Canon point and shoot. I loved my old Canon and I love my new one! We wanted something small and portable that took great pictures. It needed to be small enough for me to slip into my purse or for my husband to fit into his pocket. Some point and shoots on the market are still a little large to do that. Not the SD780! It's perfect. The pictures are also fantastic. The start up speed is very quick. The camera has multiple modes. Turning the flash off and on is very easy and has it's own designated button. This model also has the rechargable battery pack. This was something we wanted instead of having to use AA batteries like our old model. It comes with the charger and one battery pack. We have never felt a need to buy an additional battery pack. It lasts quite awhile. The camera has a small video feature. The videos don't seem as long as on our old model but this isn't very important because we do have a stand alone video camera. The software that comes with the camera is very easy to use and uploading pictures from the camera to the computer is also a breeze. Overall, Canon has hit another homerun. I love Canon and will continue to buy!

I have had my Cannon for awhile now. One of my favorite pictures is one where we were riding motorcycles through Keywest to Palm Beach Florida and I had that little sucker in my pocket and pulled it out. The sky and water were amazing and I took a picture while we were driving down the road of friends who were with us. The picture looks just like it did in real life at that moment. It is crystal clear. That picture is why I will always by a Cannon Powershot.

I absolutely love my little Canon - Power Shot SD780 Digital Camera! If I buy another camera ever again, it will be a Canon. In my opinion Canon comes out with the best picture quality and at comparable prices to other camera's with the same features. I belong to a large family and we all buy Canon's because we know they are built tough -- they last. Each Christmas someone in my family buys the newest Canon with the niftiest features and it urges us all to want to upgrade to the newest Canon digital camera. ** ** If I had to compare my Canon to another camera brand, say kodak or Nikon, I would have to say, it rocks other brands socks off! The best thing I like about my slim-line Digital Canon is its portability and durability because I'm a "spur of the moment" photographer and a bit rough with my electronics. Canon does not make cheap cameras. And this Christmas I'm asking Santa ( my hubby) for a tripod to go with my camera so I can make videos.** ** I would definitely recommend Canon to my friends. ****

Recieved this camera for christmas and I absolutely love it! (mine is in this dark, hot pink color and I absolutely love it). it takes great picture and extreme high quality video (HD). I actually stopped using my Fip HD video camera for a while because it was convenient having the video camera right on my regular camera so I didn't need to switch back and forth to record high quality video. However- the memory got full way too quickly, so I started using my video camera in addition again. This is the only complaint I have- the video is so high quality that it sucks up space on your memory card very easily. But this could be easily resolved by increasing the size of your card (mine's only4 GB), or simply emptying thecard often.

I can't go anywhere without my canon powershot digital camera. I have had it for years and it works like a charm. It has lasted long and been everywhere with me! It takes great pictures and has captured so many memories! I look back to when I didn't have a camera and I can't remember how I lived without it, I am constantly pulling it out for every reason under the sun and I can always trust that it will take a great picture and in turn help me keep great memories of my life and experiences! It also has a ton of cool features to make photos even more good looking or help you with convenience for example ten second self timer! My husband and I use it all the time because we want pictures with the both of us but we don't want to hold it out with one arm. It is honestly the only brand I will ever buy my friends who have other types of digital cameras just don't take as good quality pictures as I do and it is not because of me, it's all the camera.

This was my first digital elph. I was very pleased with the slim form factor and construction. The case was made all out of painted metal. The features include a viewfinder, something which is pretty rare nowadays. In addition, there was the legendary Canon picture quality. The controls are very well-placed, though not traditional by Canon's history. The battery uses the traditional Canon one present in all the Elphs. But, the optical zoom is lacking, at only 3x. The pictures are bloated, at 12 megapixels. I found that, when you zoomed in, the pictures would exhibit noise well before you could get to the pixel level. So, the 12 megapixels only made the picture size unnecessarily large, without anything in return.

I have had my Canon Powershot SD780 IS for over a year now and I have truly enjoyed it. It is so small and compact and so easy to take everywhere. The camera takes great quality pictures and is very user friendly. I also love the HD video. We don't have a recorder so it's nice to know I can take good quality videos of my baby even without a camcorder. My family and I have always been impressed with the powershot series of canon. The powershots have lasted far longer than any other series. (Well other than the SLR's, they last forever) It's great functions to adjust pictures for those with a more artistic side, but still has the simplicity of a point and shoot for those who don't know much about cameras. Overall good quality, well built, not bad of a price. Plus the battery has seemed to last for a very long time.

Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera is just a great camera. I like to have my camera with me at all times to record my family's memories, and this is a great camera for that. The Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera is light weight and compact. It fits easily in my purse, diaper bag, backpack, etc, so I can have it with me at all times. I know I could use my camera phone, but those pictures always turn out lame, fuzzy, and dark. The Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera allows me to take clear pictures anytime, anywhere. The Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera is super easy to use. I am not real savvy with technology and have no true photography experience, but I take great photos with the Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera and that's all I am looking for. I also like that the Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera has video. It is a nice option, although the videos tend to turn out pretty dark. I would definitely recommend the Canon - Power Shot Digital Camera.
