We bought our first Mac last year - an iMac that came with a free printer - the Canon Pixma MP480 All-in-One Inkjet Printer.  It's OK, but my biggest complaint about it is the lack of options for printing.  For example, if there is a way to print in just black and white, I haven't been able to figure it out!  I don't think it's possible.  It's a scanner, a copier and a printer.  The actually works well, and we do use all three features.  It's just that sometimes it's wasteful to print in color, and I wish I had the option to print in just black and white.  I also can't find a "fast draft" setting, so every page prints out at full, high quality.  Because of these to issues, I am using more ink than I would like to.  The cartridges are average price and easily available.  I guess you really shouldn't complain when something is free, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, I feel that we are paying in another way - in the amount of ink used.

I am kind of disappointed with this printer since it makes very loud noise and the built-in quality is horrible. The clear scanning glass is already off-centered even it is brand new and it makes very hard to position the document for scanning. The plastic Canon uses on this printer is weak and I already broke the tray. But it works fine for light uses. It is also one of few Mac-compitable printers in the market and it supports bluetooth wireless printing if you buy the adapter separately. Also, the printer has sleek looking and it's a great company for my new macbook pro. It has a lot of features that you might never use. It takes SD and Memory Stick card so that you can print your pictures directly on the printer without connecting to the computer. It also has a small LCD screen that helps you select picture and for easier operation. But don't expect good quality on such simple and cheap printer. I am glad I received this printer for free and I would not recommend anyone to buy one only if you can get it for free.

I got the Canon MP480 printer free with my computer a year and a half ago. I've been pretty pleased with it. It's easy to operate and prints well. The printing, scanning, and copying functions all work satisfactorily. It is nice that it has a little flip up screen where you can perform a lot of the controls. This is pretty easy to learn and understand how to use, especially alongside the user's manual (which you can get electronically). I bought the bluetooth adapter for the printer so I don't have to have my computer connected by a USB cord and that is really nice. My old printer did not have a bluetooth option, so this was a nice addition for me. It is nice that you can print directly off a USB port as well. The quality of prints/copies is pretty good, but the printer can be a little loud. It's nice that you can choose to print in black and white or color. The only real negative I see about it is that the ink doesn't last forever and it is super expensive to replace. But this is kind of a fact of life for inkjet printers. The only reason I would replace it would be to get a laser printer.

I use my Canon MP 480 Printer all the time.  I have three kids that I teach preschool lessons to on a daily basis, and I need a reliable printer that will take a variety of papers.  This one has really worked.  It prints card stock, regular paper stock, etc. with high quality and it is so easy to use.  You just move the little pieces in back to hold the size of paper you are feeding into it, and the printer does the rest.  No resetting anything or figuring out how/where to align the paper!  The ink has lasted a very long time as well, and when I ran out of black ink, I just started recoloring things to different shades, and the ink is still going.  I love that it has the scan feature and the copy feature as well.  I've used both several times with great results .  The set-up is so simple it's almost unbelievable- when I switched computers, all I did was hook the printer to it with the cable, and the rest it did by itself- I didn't have to locate a disc to install software or anything!  I love it, it's been a great product for us!

we bought the canon mp480 printer a few years ago for christmas because it had some ofthe cheapest printer ink cartridges. litlle did we know that it was a really great printer! it is so easy to use. youcan just touch a button and do almost anything! also, i like using it to print off pictures, something i never did with our old printers because of the quality. this printer does it all, is really easy to use and is cheaper than others to refill ink cartridgres. i have gotten it jammed time and time again and unjamming it is no problem. honestly, in all the years i have had it, i have never had a problem with it! the only thing that i remembetr was a negative abou it was that there was no cord in it. you had to purchase that seperately,, which we did not know so had to go back out, get the cord and then were able to use it. it's so easy to use, we even got my mother one, who does not know how to use anything electronic & she has no problem with it.

When I had to purchase a new printer I researched many.  I decided on the Canon MP480 because of price and the multifunctions that it offered.  It is a fantastic deal for the price and I am very glad this is the one I chose.  It is easy to use.  The scan & copy functions are a breeze.  The software is excellent and it completly covers all of the uses I need and then some.  The quality is great as well.  It is a great multifunction printer, scanner, copier both in quality and price. An excellent bargain.

We loved our lexmark printer but needed to get a new one after buying a mac and not being compatible. I love my canon cameras and am a photographer, so we decided to go with the canon printer. I needed something to handle printing my invoices, receipts, scan documents, and copy documents for my business. I also needed something to be able to print black/white and color documents quickly and efficiently for my children's homeschooling activities. I've been pretty satisfied with this printer. The quality is pretty good, although not as clear and concise as other printers I've owned. The scan is a little slow, but I love how it arranges your set of scanned documents as one pdf file, making emailing attachments very easy. The wifi feature is great and I love to be able to work wirelessly with it. My downside to this printer is it seems to go through ink quickly and when it is out of ink, it gives you a warning and then it is DONE! I've had printers before that will warn you and you can still get a good 50 pages out of it-not this one. Another downside-some companies who recycle ink cartridges for money or credit toward new ones do not like to take canon cartridges.

This is a review of Canon's MP480.  I really like it because it prints quickly, is easy to use, whether copying, scanning or printing.  It does not jam (unless I put the paper in crooked).  It is also very lightweight.  I wish the ink cartridges held a bit more ink.

Coming from a deskjet printer to this product it was a major improvement.  I was in the market for an all-in-one photo printer and I stumbled upon this canon for a nice price.  Little did I know I would be blown away with its value.  This printer really gets the job done its easy to use and very easy to set up.  I have this printer wireless setup and it was a breeze setting it up for windows 7.  However, for my pc's using XP it was a little tricky because of the XP drivers but once those are set it's pretty easy to use.  The quality of the prints look very good compared to my deskjet especially when printing pictures.  You have the option of using regular black ink or photo black ink and there is a noticeably difference, I recommend using the photo black ink when printing photo's as it was intended for.  Overall, This printer is easy to set up and the print quality is very good. I highly recommend this product to those looking for a good value all-in-printer.

I needed a printer to do some work with and found the Canon MP480. It is a wonderful printer. i can take care of all of my tasks at one time without have to buy different machines to do it for me. It doesnt use much ink and has an auto clean fuction. Everything is compact so when you are done you can close it all down. With 3 kids sitting stuff on it all the time, it is also very durable which is a big plus. I have had it now for over a year and it is still working like new and i print off stuff a lot. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an all in one machine to help with any task you have for your printing needs and more
