I recently bought a multifunction Canon MX700. Within two months it developed a problem: It would not recognize its own ink tank, even when I replaced it with a new one, and thus will not print at all. I tried to return it to Staples, but they only take back electronics within 12 days of purchase. 12 days! So much for their customer support or standing behind what they sell. Their "easy returns" policy is anything but. By comparison, I bought an envision LCD monitor from Best Buy around the same time. It died a few months later. Best buy took it back no problem and gave me full credit for it.
I contacted Canon about their printer but found no help whatsoever, so I'm probably going to have to drive 12 miles up the Edens (completely under construction) to the nearest Canon repair place and leave it there. Meanwhile I'll have no printer, and I'll have to fight traffic again when I pick it up.
Lesson learned? Do NOT buy even a paperclip from Staples, and do not buy Canon printers. Best Buy provides a much better return policy.
