I got this cannon printer as part of my computer bundle purchase a few years back. It worked great for the first couple of years, but it doesnt seem to be holding up all that well. It was super easy to download the software and initially the copies were crisp and it printed quickly, but over the past year it has developed some undesirable issues. Even though I use the correct paper, the machine has atendency to jam. Recently the copied have become compromised in relation to how crisp they print. I did at one point use an after market ink cartridge which may or may not have added to the problem. Now Im back to using original manufactured cartridges,but still after putting in a new cartridge about every ten copies or so I have to remove ink cartridge and shake it the reload it to get a dark enough copy. The only thing Im grateful for is that its easy to access the cartridge to do that. Its an ok printer for someone who doesnt need copies on a regular basis. Ill be looking to replace this unit soon

The only problem I did have with Canon's Inkjet Pixma ip 1500 Printer is the color feature started to fail me and finally stopped working after ink spilled out of the absorber. The ink cartridges were a steal of a deal because I could purchase a combo pack of ten compatible black and color inks for a little less than forty bucks. I would advise anyone to look into them because you will save a bundle of money on its usage. Printing return addresses and mailing addresses were a cinch, too, when you do things the good old fashion way! Using photo paper you could still manage a few printing jobs, without the hassle of a supply and demand for your replacement product item. A ink counter reset is necessary when showing the refillable contents of a new ink cartridge and other featured parts of the printer maintains a good quality piece of work. Compac, USA were carrying them before they went out of business, but, most any electronic business probably will have these kinds of printers in stock.     Ziegfried

I got this printer when my Canon i450 started to fail.  The IP1500 uses the same cartriges, and I had a box of them.  The printer uses one black cartrige and one color, prints great photos and very good black text.  It is the only printer I have right now, and is used by three computers.  I am very happy with it.

The Canon Pixma ip 1500 is a good printer for the price. I use my computer everyday day. My wife and I print all kinds of documents and never have any problems. They always come out crystal clear and easy to read. We do not use this printer to print a lot of pictures so I am not sure about how it does on that sort of thing. We mostly use it for letters, reports, and speeches. So I can say that if your are using it for text purposes, you wont have any problems. This printer is also easy to use. It does not have alot of the features of higher priced printers like memory card readers and screens built in to the unit and things like that. But if you are looking for an easy to use, not a lot of bells and whistles kind of printer, this is it. It is extremely easy to load the ink. You open the front cover, the ink tank holders slide over, you pop the bad boys in and your good to go. The ink is cheap to buy also.
