After purchasing a laptop, I decided that the next step was a wireless printer.  As I run a business from home, I also wanted a copier and scanner.  This printer has worked great for me.  The setup was very easy, as the screen guides you through every step.  Also, any troubleshooting or ink replacement is easy- the screen tells you what to do, and a blinking light on the ink cartridge shows you which cartridges need to be replaced.  I have not had any problems with paper jams with this printer, even though I often just use copy paper in it.  Pages print fast.  A nice feature of the copier is that it allows you to preview the page before you copy it.  I don't always have the patience to wait for the preview, but it is a nice feature for someone like me who doesn't always place the paper exactly right the first time.  This is a good printer for a small home office or for a family with students. I included the previous review to show that I did like this printer- however, it stopped working properly within a year, so I am very disappointed in this printer's preformance.

Okay, we used to (and still do) have another nameless (ahem!) printer that was plugged into one machine.  To use the machine from any of our other 6 computers (including laptops), we used to have to connect (via the network) onto that machine (which had to be ON) and then print indirectly.  If any one of those points was 'off' or disconnected, the printing process failed.  Now, this machine is always online on your network, NOT PLUGGED INTO ANY ONE MACHINE!  That means you can print to it from any of your laptops or desktops that are already on your network.  AND we didn't even have to install any weird programs or software to get the machine working.  It found the necessary drivers online and installed them automatically.  It was basically plug and go!  It works So amazingly well.  Also, I love that each individual color cartridge can be replace by itself with out having to purchase an expensive multi-color pack.  Great machine.

This is a wonderful wireless printer.  It's easy to setup and easy to use!  Even my 6 year old knows how to use it!  It's fast, efficient and produces great copies and prints!  The only issue -the cartridges are expensive!

The Canon MP640 All-In-One InkJet Printer is awesome to use for everyday needs! It has great features and functions (as the "All-In-One" name suggests). This product includes scanner, photocopier, and the obvious, printing! (both black and white) A couple cons are to be kept in mind with the Canon MP640 All-In-One InkJet Printer. These include that while it is great that this printer has Wi-Fi, it took me a long, long time to hook it up. This may just be my experience, but if you are not tech-savvy in the least, this could pose a problem. The instruction booklet did help, but it was still a pain! Also, the ink that this printer uses is very pricey!! The paper feed is located at the bottom of the unit, which is great asthetically. It holds quite a bit of paper, and is very easy to refil. The feed has never gotten jammed while I used it, which is pretty rare for a printer in my opinion! So in all, I would certainly recommend this printer to friends or family, though it is not without its occasional flaws.

My husband brought this Canon all-in-one printer/scanner home one day so that we could scan our old photos into the computer.  We stayed up all night enjoying memories with our photographs as we saw them on the computer for the first time.  The Canon worked great for scanning them so that our memories could be recorded for better safe-keeping and for Facebook-sharing!  It was so easy to install and set up, we had no trouble with that, usually it's a nightmare to set up something new for me.  The printing is super-fast and easy to load paper.  It has a secondary paper tray for things other than regular white paper - so photo paper or labels can go into the secondary tray. The menu bar pops up when you turn your computer on so you can always have help with a job if you need it.  Thre's plenty more that you can do with this puppy that I have yet to figure out, and I am sure it will come with time, but so far it's been a dream.  Canon has been a trusted name in our home and this printer replaced our string of HP printers and I doubt we will ever go back.

I got this printer to replace a Canon printer that I had had for nine years before the print head broke. I had been satisfied with that one, so I wanted another Canon. Unfortunately, I haven't been pleased with this one. The quality is good, but it takes forever to start printing after you turn it on. It works and works noisily for a good two minutes before it actually starts printing. It's really aggravating, and if I could go back in time, I would not get this printer.

It is easy to set up. No problem with the signal. The print quality and speed perform very well. The only thing makesme conserned is that the paper loading box is right behind the printer, which forces the user to have this printer located above something to be able to open the box.

I got the Canon Pixma MP640 as a gift, so I didn't choose it myself, but it has worked out pretty well for me.  It has a great display screen to change settings, so you don't even have to have your computer on to print pictures from your camera or make copies. One of the main features of this printer is that it has a separate feed for photo paper, and you can leave that in the machine so it's ready to print any time.  With some printers, there's only 1 feed, and you have to reload the paper if you go from regular letter paper to photo paper, but this is convenient. I also use the copier feature a lot; it's very easy- just open the top, put down the page you want to copy, and select black & white or color.  You can adjust other settings- size, etc- if you want, but it can be very simple. The scan feature is also great for putting printed pictures onto your computer, and that's as easy as making a copy. This printer can be set up to print wirelessly, so there is one less cord!  I love that, and then you don't even have to keep the computer right next to the printer! My only complaint is the set up process:  it's very long and detailed, and especially trying to set up the wireless feature took a long time.

Great printer with tons of features for everyone - including scanning to your desktop (great for .pdfs!), photocopying, black/white printing, color printing and more!  I find that I personally don't use all the functions, but they are there if you need them!  I've benefitted most from the wireless feature, which is very convenient:  I can print from my living room to the office with no wires attached!  This is great when I'm in a rush and don't have time to re-attach my laptop to the printer itself.  The quality is very nice and the ink dries very quickly; I've never had any issues with smudging.  The ink can be pricey, but should last a while and you should be able to find discount ones online (just make sure you buy Canon brand ones).  I'm a student so I occasionally print 10 page articles etc and the intro ink tanks that come with the printer lasted me through two semesters.  I also love the flat bottom feed paper tray instead of the common vertical paper trays that many inkjet printers have in the back (the paper always folds or enters the printer wrong).  It also holds a nice amount of paper in there too! The initial set up can be a bit tricky, especially if you're using a mac.  If you have any issues with drivers, just go to the Canon website and download the newest ones; you should be good from there and at least you only need to go through this process once.

Well, I needed some new ink for my printer.  The printer ink would have cost me the same that I paid for this printer so I just went for it and bought this one and am so glad I did!  I have been using it to print coupons and it's been good on ink so far!  It was so easy to install I did it ALL by myself and I'm not a techie at ALL!  I love that it's wireless and I can use my laptop anywhere and just click print and not have to hook anything up!  I'm so happy with it!
