Canon's MP210 printer does everything I can think of

5

The Canon MP210 is a color inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and photo printer all in one. My fave thing about this printer is that it has borderless printing, so margins are irrelevant now. Makes it great to print high quality pictures and give them out to friends. Speaking of picture printing, I don't use this feature a lot because the inkjet cartridge costs aren't worth it to print whole albums at a time, but for the occasional photo, this thing is awesome. Printing is super, super fast. Especially if you save ink and use Fast printing with Grayscale for most stuff. I also really love the user friendly software that comes with it. It has a printing program that lets you scan, design cards, size photos, add text, all sorts of stuff. I use this all the time to make my own Christmas and birthday cards for family. And it's free. The scanner works really well. It seems a bit slow to me, but it's not an industrial machine by any means so I'm OK with what I've got. The scan quality is just OK. The things I scan at high quality and re-print aren't 100% like the original, but they are good enough to get by if needed. It's an Energy Star certified printer, so I like that it saves energy too.

I've only used this printer for printing, and so this review might be a little biased. Also, I got this free with the purchase of my laptop. But I've noticed that the printing isn't too special. It's really loud and takes a while to warm up. I also tend not to like inket printers because the ink smears sometimes, as opposed to laserjet printers. But this was free, so I couldn't complain. It is an all in one printer though, so you won't need to buy a separate printer, copier, scanner; this does it all. I have yet to find something I need to copy or scan so I can't say much about the quality of scanning or copying. But for printing, it does its job. I wish it had the option to print double sided though, maybe I just haven't found it. But I have to manually flip over every page if I want to save trees and be environment friendly. I usually just print papers for school, and so I don't use color ink very much, so ink won't be too costly.

Good all in one for the money

The canon MP210 is a pretty good scanner/printer combo for the money.   Under Windows, it recognizes instantly and installs easily.  The printer is not directly supported under Linux.  However, under Ubuntu Linux the drivers for the MP220 will print to it without issue and the native scanner interface (probably a TWAIN based system, though I haven't checked) works without issue. Print and scan quality are both high.  After getting the printer up and running, I haven't had any -major- problem with it in about 2 years.  I have had some minor problems.  In a humid climate paper left in the tray over a long period of time will wrinkle and feed badly. The ink runs out faster then I'd like and costs quite a lot.  Cartages can't be refilled; or at least I haven't succeeded in the attempt.  I would recommend this printer to people who need both printing and scanning capacity, but do not print frequently enough to justify a laser printer.

I love all the things I can do with this printer. I have had it for over 2 years and have not had one problem eith it. On the down side you cannot use refilled ink cartridges in this printer and the refills can be pricey but if you do your homework you can find good deals

The Canon PIXMA MP210 is a great printer for those who have/need a scanner but don't like all of the extra space it takes up.  It has a build in scanner which can also be used as a copier and will immediately print a copy of whatever is in the scanner.  It also can be used with cameras (Canon is probably recommended but I'm sure any camera with a USB cord will work), all you have to do is plug them in and it will print the pictures you want.  I think that is very convenient and you don't have to go through the computer to do it. Ink is a bit expensive but it lasts a while and can be found in other brands for cheaper, although I do reccommend the Canon ink because it works better and has less streaks and problems.  It is a very quick scanner and also a quick printer.  You aren't waiting all day for it to print your 15 page paper.  It is also very reliable, apart from running out of ink, I have never had a problem.

I have used about three different printers  and I have find that the Canon PIXMA MP210 works very well for me. I use it at home making copies off the internet of different recipes that I have been looking for.it prints clear and neat. It is easy to switch from black to color printing. The good thing about this printer is is also a scanner. When I have to send copies to someone I can do from home and not have to go out and do it. So it scans and then prints the  copies for you. This Canon printer saves me time and money. I also can print pictures that I have transfer from my camera to my computer. Since the Canon is a brand name it is very easy to find a store that sells the ink for it. You also can find it on the internet.Changing the ink cartridge is very simple to do,as the instructions are very easy to follow. It is not your hign price printer and not your cheaper one either. For the money you are getting  a very good printer for using at the home. As I have stated before I have had at lease three other printers and so far this one is doing quite well for me.

Best printer I have ever had!!

I love printing my own pictures so when my old printer died it was a tough decision to buy a new one. I love this canon printer! It scans, prints and copies anything very easy. I am amazed at how easy it to print pictures. This canon all in one can do whatever you need. It holds memory cards to print without a PC. It prints any size picture you want with ease. The scanner is simple as is the copier. The copier has come in handy to copy the kids school papers that they need or to retain a copy  of an important document right on the computer. The ink isn't the cheapest but I found it cheaper to buy the combo ink with 5x7 photo paper. Great printer that I would recommend to anyone.

Canon PIXMA MP210 is a good AIO for the price

4

I have always used Canon printers and have been very happy with them.  I decided when I bought my AIO that I would try the Canon PIXMA MP 210 and see how well it did.  I am very happy with it.  I am happy with all features and do frequently use the fax modem with it, which works very well.  At times I do get a little disgusted with the scan feature as it seems that I cannot get it to put the scanned item into the folder on my PC that I want it to!  One of these days I hope to get that part of it mastered.  For the price of this AIO, I think it is a very good product.  I later bought a Dell AIO and I am not happy with it at all.  Will not buy another Dell printer under any conditions.

The Canon MP210 is great buy for the money.

I am really pleased with this printer, the Canon MP210. It's an all-in-one unit, so I was a little nervous about buying it. I've heard a lot of negative things about all-in-ones, but this one had the features I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. It's performance has not let me down. The colors are sharp and crisp, the speed is excellent, and even the scanning is great. I bought a high quality scanner at the same time, but I've ended up using the Canon MP210 for most of my scanning because it really does a nice job. The only negative that I have found is that it is noisy when printing.

A good overall printer

I have had this printer for several years now, and it works just as well as when I first bought it.  I needed something that scanned photos at a high enough resolution rate for digital prints to be made for my genealogy addiction; I like the ease of use, the way the lid raises to allow bulky items with the lid completely shut.; Cartridges are easy to install, but pricey for the photo cartridges.p; Not easy to buy remanufactured cartridges for this machine, as they might not be recognized.; As with other copiers, it shows low ink way before you need to replace the cartridge, so I can usually get 50 more pages printed before it really does run out.; It allows for direct printing from a digital camera, which I have not used. I still prefer printing the photos from online sources. The quality of printing pictures from this machine is low--not as crisp looking, and the color seems off. The paper rarely jams but if it does is easy to fix. I have had very few problems with this copier and highly recommend it. I recently had to replace this copier. It has an ink system that fills with used ink. There were no local copier repair facilities to replace this ink pad. So I replaced it with a comparable Canon Pixma MG 5220. Durability Once the ink reservoir in the machine is full, it need professional service. (Not replacement ink, but the used ink absorbent reservoir.)
