Fast, great quality-everything I need and copies are easy!

4

Ink prices are high, like all these units, but otherwise it is fast, and good quality.  I use this mostly for black and white word processing, but I wanted something to add photos to documents.  This does the trick.  The printer is extremely easy to install and use with my laptop.  No USB cable included, but I use the one from another peripheral.

This printer really does it all

4

I bought my Cannon printer after having many problems with other brands of printers.  My Cannon printer really has performed better than all the other printers I've had. The printer I had before my MP530 had trouble with it's paper feed.  The Cannon gives me 2 options for paper feed.  There is a cassette for bulk paper (about 50 sheets at a time) and for special paper stock I can use the back feed option where it handles about 5-10 sheets. I use the printer primarily and have not had any trouble with printing. The ink cartridges come in each individual color and has an extra large cartridge for black.  This is convenient because you don't throw out a cartridge because it is low on one color.  This feature alone has saved me money. I have used the copy, scan and fax functions.  They all work very well and never give me any trouble.  Copying is the easiest to get working, just stick the original in the tray or on the glass and push start.  Scanning is fairly easy using the computer software and having a little patience ( which I have very little).  Scanning is always a little slow.  The fax feature was the hardest for me to get because I am not very good with phones.  I can wire and fix them but I cann't use phones.  Once I get the right numbers in everything works well unless I'm having trouble with the phone lines which is another review. In all I recommend Cannon printers, I really never have a problem with them and they can be real work horses over their lifetime.

The Canon printer is okay

3

The all-in-one printer performs well in printing color images onto paper. It does its jobs well like most canon products. Though when scanning and printing it is kind of slow. It isn't wireless either and is exetremly bulky and a bit heavy. The Ink prices are also extremly high and its sensors that tell if the ink is low easily malfunction after a year or so. Its also a bit hard to line up paper on the scanner. Also after a few years the printer's feeding mechanism wear out after a few years and the paper begins to jam very easy. Overall, it does its job well for about two or three years then it falls apart. If your looking for a realiable printer the the canon MP530 is for you or your buisness.

Great All in One: MP530

5

I've owned several printers throughout the years and currently own three. I've had this printer for about a year. I purchased this printer because I saw it on sale. The MP530 is very similar to the MP500. I still own and use a MP500 and it's my favorite printer but I bought the MP530 as a backup. There are a few differences: Pros are that the MP530 can fax and has an automatic document feeder. Cons are that it's missing media slots and a preview lcd which the MP500 has. It does have a Pictbridge port for printing from the camera but you need a wire for that. It's so much simpler to put the media card in (like you can do with the MP500) but the MP530 doesn't allow that. The MP530, like the MP500, prints great photos. They both use the same ink and printer head. Therefore ink for both of them are expensive. The good thing is that it takes individual color cartridges so you can just replace what runs out. This is a great printer for people who do not print heavily. Prints come out great whether they are photos or documents.

Canon Pixma MP530 is a good all-in-one

4

The Canon Pixma MP530 All-in One-Printer is a good printer and scanner combo, with a few unique features that make it stand out from other similar devices. First, the printer has built in auto-duplexing. That means that you can print a document two sided without having to manually reinsert the paper after the first side prints. The downside is that the duplexing is really slow. It takes the printer a while to flip each sheet over as it is printing. If you are not in a hurry though, it is a good feature. Second, the scanner has an auto seet feeder. This is a nice feature that enable you to place a large stack of papers on the top of the printer, and scan them in a batch. To scan two-sided you have to manually flip the paper over. I have experienced a number of jams with the auto-feed scanner, but for the most part it has worked well. I have never used the fax functionality of this device. The included software is good enough to ge the job done. My biggest problem with this printer is not unique to this particular printer, that is the high cost of ink. As with just about any inkjet, the ink usage is high, and the replacements are expensive. Also, the printer has the tendency to use color ink when doing just black and white printing.

Amazing quality and easy to use.

The Canon PIXMA MP530 is by far a superior printer.  I'm no computer whiz but I was able to set this thing up all by myself.  The software is fairly easy to use.  I'm a Mac user so it's nice to find a good printer that actually has a driver for Macintosh's.  (I previously had a Lexmark printer that I loved, only to find out it doesn't have a Mac driver, but believe me, this printer blows my old one out of the water.)  I run a home business making dog treats, selling vintage pottery, and selling my original artwork so I really use this printer to the fullest of it's capabilities.  My business cards, labels, product stickers, and flyers are all printed using the MP530, and the quality is AMAZING!  The pictures are always crisp and I always get asked who I used to print my stuff.  People are always amazed that I do it at home on this little thing.  My only complaints are the ink can get expensive but there are always deals online or at warehouse stores and it's not wireless.

Great Printer

I got this printer several years ago and have been loving it!! I bought it from CompUsa (which aer not around anymore). I use it the most for printing coupons and such, printing photos, making copies and scanning. It has a fax feature, which i have never used. The pictures are a GREAT quality. The biggest ones i print are 4x6, but im sure the bigger pictures turn out great too. The printer has tons of features and extras. It is super easy to use. I have never had any techinical issues with this printer, which is so nice. The only thing i don't like is buying the ink refills. It calls for 5 cartridges: 2 black, 1 yellow, 1 pink and 1 blue. I usually buy them at Staples. It is a little bulky, but it doesnt bother me. I wish it had a lock feaure, as my 15 month old likes to turn it off and on and push all the buttons. So far i have been very happy with this printer and  I would definitly buy this printer again.

We bought a Canon MP530 Printer a couple of years ago and its still running strong. You can copy in black and white or color. Never any problems with putting the paper in and it does really nice pics on photo paper too. The only con I have about it is that its large and heavy other than that. It's a really nice printer.

My Canon Pixma MP530 can be slow, but is reliable & versatile.

4

I wanted an all-in-one printer and I got a very good one with this MP530 -- it's relatively easy to use, has most of the functions of a real copier, and allows me to scan easily and print relatively quickly (at least on fast mode.)  It can be a little slow on top quality, and the whole thing won't work if one color ink is out (which is a pain if I just want to print black and white handouts for school and it won't let me because I'm out of cyan!), but overall, this was a good basic for the money, especially now that the prices have come down so much!

The Canon pixma MP530 printer does it all.

5

We've had this printer for about five years, and have to say that it hasn't disappointed us.  We use it nearly every day, printing out everything from text to coupons to pictures.  It is very user-friendly, which is good because we are somewhat technologically-challenged.  For home users like us, the fact that it is a scanner/printer/fax machine is great!  It was easy to set up and we especially like that it is compact.  It fits in our home office very well. The ink cartridges are easy to change; there is a graphic that comes up every time you print showing how much you have left in each of the five cartridges.  We have to replace a cartridge about every three or four months.  There are several online places that sell "generic" Canon cartridges at a much lower price; we buy from LD Products Inc. (located in Long Beach, California) and they work just fine. We have been more than pleased that such a reasonably priced combo printer has met or exceeded all of our expectations.
