Canon - P23-DH Basic Calculator —

I'm the one in the household that takes care of all of the finances.  I am constantly balancing the checkbook and writing out the bills.  It was when I had to start handling all of my father's financial affairs that I realized that the small manual calculator I was using wasn't going to be able to do the job.  I really needed to have printouts of the calculations to keep with my father's records so I finally purchased the Canon P23-DH III Basic Calculator for $19.99.  This calculator was perfect for my needs.

The Facts

  • Large display and contoured key tops
  • 12-digit capacity, mini-desktop size
  • Dual power supply
  • Print Option (two-color printing)

My Experience

This compact calculator displays large, clear numbers and the keys are just the right size so that errors are minimized and I can get my work done faster.  The printing feature is one that is a must for me.  The numbers print boldly in black and red depending on the calculation you choose.  I especially like that there is a calendar and a clock built right in and you can print out the date and time on your calculation.  This calculator comes with many features that at this time I don't use like "cost", "sell", "margin", "tax-", "tax+".  Who knows though, maybe in the future they may be features I will use.  At this time I am content with using only the basic functions.  My AC Adapter just recently bit the dust and I am relying on the four double A batteries that I inserted.  Luckily this machine has a really cool feature where it turns itself off when sitting idle for over 7 minutes.  I am not sure what happened to the adapter or how much a replacement costs but, for $19.99 and owning this compact calculator for over three years, I think I got my money's worth.

My Final Viewpoint

The Canon P23-DH III Basic Calculator is an inexpensive and very useful product that I have used more times than I can count.  I recommend it and am giving it a 4 star rating.

Yes, it's free. It is basically just a site where users of the calculator had issues and got them answered. I saw a few that might answer your question. Hope it helps.

Thank you. I will try that. Is it a free site to get information from?

I couldn't find a manual for you to download .. but you can visit this website that will help you hopefully. http://www.fixya.com/support/p188941-canon_p23_dh_calculator Just copy and paste it into your browser and the site should come up. Good luck!

Can someone tell me how to use this printing adding machine to just do basic functions such as balancing checkbook. I know it is not as simple as a reg. calculator. You don't hit keys in the same sequence but I just can't get it down. I have no book to it.
