Canon's X0D series was, for many years, essentially the default choice for keen enthusiasts, professionals and aspiring-professionals who wanted top-level image quality and functionality without the bulk (or price) of a pro-level camera such as the 1D series. The 10D, 20D and 30D were hugely successful an popular cameras and you didn't have to spend long shooting with them to understand why. However, like every other sector of the DSLR market, there are some very competitive rivals, in terms of both price and features. Cameras such as Sony's A700 and Nikon's D200 and 300 have meant the most recent...

The viewfinder is slightly larger and a bit brighter than the 5D's. While it offers broader coverage than the D700's--98 percent versus 95 percent--it falls short of the 100 percent provided by the A900 and by midrange models like the  C'mon Canon, eke out that last 2 percent, please.

The most notable feature advantage the 5D Mark II has over its competitors is the movie-capture capability. Canon supports 1,920x1,080 at 30fps, true 1080p HD, with a mono mic built in and stereo mic input, with clips of up to 12 minutes (on a 4GB card). All things considered, it's a pretty nice implementation. Though...

The Canon 5d Camera is a great camera for professional photographers. This camera would be perfect for professional portrait photographers and event photographers. It features a full frame sensor (35mm) which is perfect for the many wide angle lenses available for the camera. It also features 12.8 megapixels. It also feels a little clunky but very sturdy. There is no on camera flash which is preferred by most professional photographers. Another great point is that the ISO range is between 50 and 3200. The Canon 5d only features 3 frames per second for continuous speed which is not appropriate for...

This is my first review I have ever done. I must say.. this Canon 5D camera is probably one of the best Canon brand camera's out there. I really enjoy using this camera for my photography. The megapixels are FANTASTIC! I have made a poster of my family because of the nice megapixels on this camera. It's really bulky but after awhile, you get use to the weight and the size of the camera. What is also cool about the camera is that you can also use Nikon lenses on the Canon 5D. It's shutterspeed and high iso speeds is what really caught my attention to the camera. It is one of a kind and I love it....

The Canon EOS 5D offers advanced photographers a lightweight, robust digital SLR that uses Canon's superlative EF lenses without a conversion factor. Its full-frame 12.8 Megapixel CMOS sensor combines with Canon's DIGIC II Image Processor, a high-precision 9-point AF system with 6 assist points, and "Picture Style" color control to deliver images of superior quality with enough resolution for any application. With its wide-angle capabilities, 2.5 inch LCD and magnesium-alloy body, the 5D is the perfect addition to the Digital EOS line.

I'm a professional photographer who has been shooting with a Canon 5D for 2 1/2 years. I can't live without this camera. It works so well in the dark and does not have much digital noise when shooting in low light. Its seen me through several wedding shoots and daily assignments at my newspaper. If you're thinking of buying one you might want to hold off a few more weeks because the next generation 5D Mark II is coming out.

I upgraded from a Canon 20D to the 5D and have not looked back.  As a budding professional photographer, it was the best move I ever made.  I can work at a higher ISO, which is essential for photographing weddings.

The camera quality is pretty good. The image is clear, and the scope is very wide. But it is kind of heavy when I carry both 5D and the external flash, especailly when I need carry to heavy tripode. Also I didn't get my rebate, which is so sad. overall, it is good.
