Most HelpfulThe camera functions well all modes, however, the focus tends to be soft regardless of the settings you use. While the ISO can go as high as 1600, there is considerable digital noise after 400. The shutter speed is capable of going up to 32, but at that setting you must use a tripod and a remote...
review »I've always loved computers and taking pictures, making my love for digital photography a natural progression. My first digital camera was a 2 megapixel, alkaline battery-operated Kodak with no zoom. Luckily, technologies have advanced, and I've had a lot of point-and-shoot cameras that have produced beautiful images. I thought nothing could compare to my older cameras It take phenomenal pictures, but I've been drooling over the entry level digital single lens reflex (D-SLR) cameras for years now, and with a honeymoon coming, my now husband and I decided it may be time for a purchase.
I had some...
I recently got the Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black) and I'm very happy with it. My previous camera (a 6 MP Canon Digital Rebel) had broken and I was heartbroken without it.
I'm not a professional photographer, but I take thousands of photos. I run a ferret shelter, and to properly photograph ferrets, you need something lightweight, fast and easy to use. I can do anything from an artsy low-light shot to a super fast "action" shot. Ferrets move quickly, and unlike other cameras, this one can capture more than their tail as they leave the...
review »I love taking pics, and I've never been disappointed with the prints this camera makes. A great little SLR camera which can be as sophisticated as necessary for the avid photographer, or as simple as you want it to me if you shoot in automatic. All the cannon lenses work with this baby so when I upgraded cameras, I was still able to use all the old lenses that I'd invested in earlier. Great clarity, you can blow your pictures up as large as you like! You do not experience the delay time that many point and shoot digital cameras experience.
I love my XSI. I really shopped around before I bought it and I'm glad I did. I was constantly leaning towards it anyway, as I still have my old film rebel that I bought ages ago and love it dearly. I should mention I only bought the XSI body and then got a good deal on a better lens (Canon EF 28-200mm). The combination is outstanding. I love playing with my camera and all it's settings. It's not very intuitive if you don't know SLR cameras, but if you're an avid hobby photographer like me, and have more than just point and shoot camera knowledge, it's fine.
Man what a great camera. Fifteen or so years ago I bought the Minolta Maxxum 7000i. Top of the line camera made in japan. Four years ago I stayed with minolta and bought the maxxum 7xi, made in China. What a piece of junk. After the bad 7xi I thought I would never find a good quality camera. Well canan has made me wrong. This camera is great. Added a 80-250 zoom. I love it.
If you have kids and want to keep memories of their games, this is definatly the camera for you! Rapid action photography is ideal for many situations.... even if you have an unstable hand - set the camera to action to grab that perfect shot!
I have upgraded from a previous model and wouldn't look back!
