I already had a canon rebel 35 mm ,and i was totally in love so on xmas my husband bought me this new one The canon rebel camera is the best camera on the the market.Its very easy to use and a very lightweight camera and it takes awesome pictures you get high quality pictures like you would if you went to a photograghy studio and its very quick you just point and click and shoot its got soooo many great features its a flawless product this camera is a must for anyone who loves to take photos I love the large viewfinder and it has alot of diffrent speeds and lots of settings. It has a easy access compartent to get memory card out .and it has red eye feature and lots of other great features.has many acceserries for it and its very afforable and easy to use. a great begginer camera.easlily changes lens and takes great photos and is very fast i love you can take many pictures without stopping or waiting it has a time and date on pic that prints on it and i love the battery last awile too and...

After a mishap with my previous XTi I needed a camera rather quickly and found the XS at a walmart on the way to a shoot, At 589 (at) the time it was a steal. It takes great images clear and rich colors. I use user pref. settings. I do have a few tiff's with this camera. I feel like leaving the Compact Flash card out of this was a big mistake as it results in my camera being busy when I need to be taking shots instead of waiting for my camera to write to an SD card.
While the battery life is still on the better side I have seen a drop in the time usable vs the XTi. It does seem to do better in low light situations then it's predecessors however and to me that is an enormous deal!
This camera is Great for the beginner to SLR all the way to more advanced Amateurs or hobbyists. But if your a pro looking for a great camera to fill with, this camera is a missed shot waiting to happen spend your money on the 50D or 5D.

As with all of my reviews to date, my experience is based on use of a retail-purchased model.

Speaking very generally, the Canon EOS Rebel XT / 350D is to the Canon 2 what the Digital Rebel 300D is to the Canon 10D (fewer features, lower price). And generally speaking some me, the Canon EOS Rebel XT / 350D is to the Digital Rebel 300D what the Canon 20D is to the Canon 10D (a technology and feature upgrade). The 350D/Rebel XT is a healthy upgrade from and less feature-handicapped than the 300D.

Who are the potential Canon EOS Rebel XT / 350D owners? P&S owners looking to move up to: focus that can keep up with a moving subject, near instant shutter release, low noise high ISO performance and DSLR performance/features in a compact body. I took this Camera to Alaska along with a smaller less expensive model. I found that

the Rebel was the only way to go . As I was standing on the back of the train in the open air

I captured wild life while the train was moving that just was outstanding. The eagle in midair flying side by side with the train. The pictures let me relive the vacation over and over again.

Other people have emailed me for my shots as they had the same opportunities but their cameras didnt hold up to the test. My shots put you right there.

Then of course there are the grandchildren. I always have the Rebel ready to point aim and shoot.

It allows you action mode as well as stills. Grandkids only pose once - so you have to make the most of it.

My 2 year old grandson knows how to use this camera - he's taken pictures of his 4 year old cousin.

The colors are vivid for all the holiday poses, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Summer parades, you name it - the Rebel captures it all with quality and ease....

I purchased this camera after my daughter got hers. We both love it! This is a user friendly camera and it makes great pictures! You can get additional lenses to fit if you would like the zoom to be stronger. There are many accessories you can get for this camera. I like the picture quality and the light weight of it.

I have had the Canon DSLR Rebel XT for 2 years and I love it. I am a definite Canon girl and I probably won't change. It is a great camera that has grown with me and is still growing. I have learned everything on the camera includnig how to shoot in manual. If you go with a SLR and want to stay in a budget this is the camera for you. All lenses that I have had have worked great, it is easy to interchange. Also for the 2 years I have had it the battery has lasted a long time and through hours of photography shooting. Takes wonderful shots and has helped me grow my photography.

The only real drawback is you do have a lcd screen, but it is only to view pictures not to actually take pictures. You have to use the view finder to take them.

This camera is the best! I am not a professional but let me tell you this camera is well worth the money. It has so many features for all different types of photos.

It can be a little overwhelming at times with all the functions available but I just keep the pocket booklet in my bag and pull it out when its needed. Some of the functions I still have yet to learn but the user book is very reader friendly and like I said it also has a pocket booklet that you can keep with you for any time.

I can tell such a difference with the pictures that I have taken from my last camera to this one. The pictures are so clear and crisp weather it is still or action; I get the best shot every time. This is by far the best camera I have owned.

I keep it in my vehicle all the time so that I always have it handy in case I see something that I want to take a picture of. It fits into its litte bag and is never in the way. I love this camera and would recommend this to anyone!

The Canon Rebel XT allows everyone from a beginner to the more advanced picture taker to frame beautiful pictures. We have done everything from scenic pictures blown up to 18x20 to family Christmas cards to family vacation photos with the camera. In taking pictures there are several modes including one for moving objects which makes taking such pictures much easier. The screen on the camera makes it easy to determine if you want to keep or throw away most pictures in order to keep your memory card available (some still look fuzzy on the computer screen). I did buy an extra lens but would not recommend buying one without the image stabilization in the lens-this is not inherent in the camera as I understand it is with some others and it is very difficult to take a good picture without it-apparently I am just a really shaky person. I also noticed that additional lenses are very expensive so be aware if you are buying this camera and want additional lenses, they come at quite a cost....

I am a professional photographer and I absolutely love taking beautiful pictures. This camera is great because I can use it for my business and personal pleasure. It is not to heavy to take on all my family vacations without being burdened down.

I love taking pictures of everything but I mostly love taking pictures of my children..wether it be their sports, awards programs, field trips or just playing around having fun together. On vacation I will average taking 1000 pictures of my family. I like having alot to chose from especially when I print them out to put in the scrap book.

This camera has a timer setting that I use when taking family christmas pictures etc. The camera itself is very easy to understand and the manually walks you through it step by step. It has the option of taking black and white prints or color. The sports setting is awesome. I have gotten some of the best action shots that you would not get with a regular camera. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone....
