I have always own either Canon or Nikon SLR in the past. Recently, however, I ventured into the DSLR world and I'm now wondering why did I wait too long. I love it absolutely. Take as many pictures as you like and you can see the result immediately. I have a couple of Canon lens from previous cameras and they fit perfectly with my new Canon DSLR. The focus is fast, accurate, and silent. My camera can take 3.5 frames per second which is more than most people will ever need. I consider myself a more advance amature photographer and this camera has all the features I would ever want or need. Before I buy this camera, I actually rented a comparable Nikon DSLR for 2 weeks just to see what one I prefer. To me, the Nikon has a "better" built quality to its cameras but it doesn't have as many features as the Canon. But you pay for that built quality with weight. Overall, I'm very happy with my Canon Rebel. Only drawback is the short battery life. That can be fixed with an extra battery. Trust me, you won't regret it.
