I am on my second Canon Rebel XT and I have carried it daily for more than three years. I am a journalist by profession, now an editor of a magazine. I use the camera for sporting events, portraits, mug shots, news photos, scenics, wildlife shots and more. I am a published photographer and known for my wildlife (loons) and scenics (foliage, wilderness). But I also use it in production when working on feature articles. It's versatility to shoot macro and widescreen is an immeasurable help. In production, you have to have high resolution pictures, and I routinely use work that is cover quality, full bleed. That's a very large image, folks. The memory cards come in a variety of sizes and are not expensive, relatively speaking. For $22 I can take a 1,000 images before changing cards. But the ability to edit out images while still using the camera is an invaluable tool and extends the capacity of quality images on one memory card. The interchangeable lenses, however, is by far the best feature, and the quality of the image depends on the quality of the lens - its all there. When this camera body wears out, I will get another one, without question.
