We have owned this camera for several years and are very happy with it. It takes great pictures, has good battery life and solved our problem of fast moving kids getting lost with our Canon Powershot. It uses the same battery as our Canon Elura 50 Camcorder which is nice. Sharing the same charger and batteries makes packing for trips a bit easier.
Because of the high resolution, the pictures tend to be 2.5 megabyes each, which is pretty hefty. We tend to only use this camera at home, close to home or on special occasions. It is a real committment to bring in on vacations.
So, my bottom line is that if you are looking to upgrade to a SLR digital camera, but you are not a super serious photographer, this is a good choice. If you significant other is skeptical of point and shoot digital cameras because of their slow refresh time, this just may be your solution.
